Inleiding
DUBBELE DIENSTWONING bij het landgoed Twickel, gebouwd in 1925 naar ontwerp van architect H.A. Pothoven uit Amersfoort. De woning staat aan de Watertorenstraat tegenover een andere dubbele dienstwoning van Twickel (Mon.nr.: 507504).
Omschrijving
De dubbele dienstwoning is in bruine baksteen over één bouwlaag opgetrokken op een rechthoekige plattegrond onder een wolfdak met antracietgrijze Hollandse pannen en een steekkap aan de straatzijde. Het dak heeft een overstek, twee dakkapellen aan de voorzijde en twee aan de achterzijde. Op de nok staan drie schoorstenen met vertikaal en horizontaal siermetselwerk. Op de begane grond zijn de raampartijen samengesteld uit vierruits vensters, gedeeltelijk behangen met Twickelluiken. Onder de kap en in de dakkapellen zijn combinaties van zesruits vensters geplaatst.
In de voorgevel (N) zijn de vensters onder strekken met natuurstenen sluit- en aanzetstenen geplaatst. Aan weerszijden van de middenpartij onder de steekkap zijn op de hoeken de getoogde ingangen in portieken met geverniste houten kolommen geplaatst. De geveltop onder de steekkap is bekleed met rode shingles.
In de achtergevel (Z) zijn deuren naar de tuin geplaatst. De zijgevels bevinden zich onder de wolfeinden en worden ingedeeld door vensters van hetzelfde type als in de voorgevel.

De dubbele dienstwoning is van cultuur-, architectuurhistorisch en stedebouwkundig belang vanwege:

Description
The double service dwelling is raised in brown brick over one storey on a rectangular floor plan under a roof with half-hipped ends with anthracite-grey Dutch tiles and a pent roof on the street side. The roof has an overhang, two roof dormers on the front and two on the rear. On the ridge stand three chimneys with vertical and horizontal decorative brickwork. On the ground floor the window arrangements are composed of four-light windows, partially fitted with Twickel shutters. Under the roof and in the roof dormers are combinations of six-light windows placed.
In the front facade (N) the windows are placed under stretches with natural stone closing and setting stones. On either side of the central section under the pent roof the arched entrances in porticos with varnished wooden columns are placed on the corners. The gable top under the pent roof is clad with red shingles.
In the rear facade (S) doors to the garden are placed. The side facades are under the half-hipped ends and are divided by windows of the same type as in the front facade.
