Omschrijving
Inleiding
In baksteen opgetrokken gevels, gemetseld in halfsteens verband. Plint met rollaag. Bakstenen dorpels, segmentboogvormige strekken.

Description
Introduction
Three LABOURERS' DWELLINGS of the Nuinhof Housing Group, 1919, in a traditional building style influenced by the chalet style. Built on the instructions of the Building Association 'Nuth Vooruit' for the railway workers of the nearby railway depot, according to a design by architect N.J. van Tiene in Maastricht. The three dwellings are situated in the southern part of the housing group. The dwellings have undergone some renovations and alterations. All additions and outbuildings realised since 1919 are excluded from protection.
Description
Three labourers' dwellings with partial basement storey, two storeys and attic storey. Each dwelling has an L-shaped floor plan, due to a built-out storage shed perpendicular to the rear facade. The floor plans of buildings 9 and 11 are mirror images of each other. The floor plan of building 7 is identical to that of building 9, with an extension on the left half of the rear facade.
The whole is covered by a hipped roof with inserted cap, covered with red Dutch tiles of more recent date. Gutter drip moulds, clad with green trespa, resting on substantial wooden consoles.
Facades of brickwork, laid in half-brick bond. Plinth with roll moulding. Brick sills, segmental arch stretches. Yellow plasterwork in the window reveals and the inserted top gable.
Renewed rectangular windows and doors in wood and plastic, in which the original arrangement and small glazing bars have not been maintained. These windows are placed in the top gable and partly in the first storey in segmental arch frames with reveals.
Asymmetrically arranged facade on the street side. Slightly projecting facade section of two bays under an inserted gabled roof, in which the entrance sections of buildings 7 and 9 are housed. Buildings 7 and 11 are provided on the first storey with two rectangular windows with fanlight in a segmental arch frame as well as a rectangular front door with fanlight in a segmental arch frame; on the second storey with a rectangular, double vertically divided window frame. The intermediate building 9 has on the first storey one rectangular window frame with side light under concrete lintel (replacing the two smaller windows, of which reveal and segmental arch stretch are still visible) and a rectangular wooden door with fanlight in a segmental arch frame; on the second storey a rectangular, double vertically divided window frame.
The corner buildings have blind side facades. Sober rear facades, originally with cross windows in the segmental arch frame on the first storey, on the second storey a rectangular window frame high under the gutter drip mould.
Valuation
The three railway workers' dwellings of the Nuinhof housing group are of cultural-historical significance as a particular expression of a socio-economic and typological development with considerable innovative value for the region. The architectural-historical values of the dwellings are determined by the building style, the involvement of architect N.J. van Tiene, the aesthetic qualities of his complex design, by the use of materials and ornamentation. The dwellings are of particular significance because of their situation, which is connected to the development and expansion of the village and region; the buildings are important for the appearance of the village and region and have a historical-spatial relationship with the nearby railway depot. The dwellings possess, with respect to the exterior, reasonable architectural-historical integrity and are of great importance in relation to the structural and visual integrity of the built environment. Moreover, these dwellings for railway workers are both architecturally-historically and typologically rare in a supra-regional perspective.
