Inleiding
In een traditionele bouwtrant in 1922 naar een ontwerp van de afdeling Openbare Werken van de gemeente Heerlen gebouwd POMPGEBOUW. Op het terrein waar de in totaal drie pompgebouwen zijn gesitueerd bevinden zich tevens het waterstation en de dienstwoning van de machinist.
Dit pompgebouw bevindt zich rechts van dienstwoning.
Omschrijving
Het pompgebouw heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond, telt een bouwlaag en wordt afgedekt met een plat houten dak met breed overstek. Het toegepaste bouwmateriaal is beton en Kunradersteen. Gecementeerde plint Optrek in Kunradersteen. Vensters met hardstenen dorpelsteen. Rechthoekige zinken vensters met zestiensruits roedeverdeling. Rechthoekige deur.
Waardering
Het pompgebouw is van cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een typologische ontwikkeling. Het gebouw is van architectuurhistorische waarde wegens de toepassing van Kunradersteen als bouwmateriaal. Ensemblewaarde ontleent het gebouw aan de situering in een geaccidenteerd terrein in het buitengebied van de gemeente Voerendaal.
