Inleiding
Het BEDIENINGSGEBOUW of sluiswachtersgebouw op de dijk, aan de noordzijde van de schutkolk, is op stilistische gronden in dezelfde stijl als de sluis te dateren, dus omstreeks 1931. Ofschoon een eenvoudig dienstgebouwtje, is het in de detaillering beïnvloed door de Interbellum-architectuur en valt het ontwerp toe te schrijven aan de polderopzichter W.D. Booijenga uit Metslawier. Het is mogelijk dat het gebouwtje niet gelijktijdig met de sluis is gerealiseerd, daar er zich in het archief van het zeewerend waterschap De Contributie Zeedijken Oostdongeradeel een afzonderlijke bouwtekening bevindt.
Omschrijving
Het bedieningsgebouw heeft een vierkante grondslag en is opgetrokken in platvol gevoegde gele bakstenen onder een betonnen, plat dak. Daarop staat een baak met windwijzer. De gevellijst is uitgevoerd in kiezelbeton. Op de hoeken zijn horizontaal gelede, tweelicht hoekvensters. De binnenmuren hebben een lambrisering van geel geglazuurde bakstenen met een rand van groen geglazuurde bakstenen.
Waardering
Het bedieningsgebouw uit omstreeks 1931 is van algemene cultuurhistorische waarde:

- als functioneel en essentieel onderdeel van het volledige complex dat een grote mate van architectonische eenheid en functionele samenhang vertoont.

Introduction
The CONTROL BUILDING or lock keeper's building on the dike, on the north side of the lock chamber, is on stylistic grounds to be dated in the same style as the lock, thus around 1931. Although a simple service building, its detailing is influenced by Interbellum architecture and the design can be attributed to the polder inspector W.D. Booijenga from Metslawier. It is possible that the building was not realized at the same time as the lock, as there is a separate building drawing in the archive of the sea-defending water board De Contributie Zeedijken Oostdongeradeel.
Description
The control building has a square ground plan and is constructed in flush-jointed yellow bricks under a concrete, flat roof. On top stands a beacon with wind vane. The cornice is executed in pebble concrete. On the corners there are horizontally articulated, two-light corner windows. The interior walls have wainscoting of yellow-glazed bricks with a border of green-glazed bricks.
Valuation
The control building from around 1931 is of general cultural-historical value:
