Omschrijving gymnastieklokaal.

GYMNASTIEKLOKAAL uit 1919-1921 grenzend aan de noordelijke zijgevel van de conciërgewoning en deel uitmakend van het complex van de voormalige meisjes HBS, maar ten opzichte van de woning iets terugliggend. Het lokaal is opgetrokken op een rechthoekige plattegrond. De ingang, een dubbele houten deur met bovenlicht, bevindt zich aan de Mecklenburglaanzijde binnen de omheining met pergola. Het bouwvolume dat zich hier voegt onder het doorlopende zadeldak van de portierswoning omvat het ingangsportaal, drie wc's, de garderobe en de oorspronkelijke dienstkeuken. De hoek aan de Waldeck-Pyrmontlaan is afgerond en bevat drie smalle rechthoekige vensters en wordt bekroond door een klokvormige koepel. Achter dit bouwvolume bevindt zich, geheel aan de Waldeck-Pyrmontlaan, het eigenlijke gymnastieklokaal onder een (hoger) zadeldak, waarvan de topgevels geschulpt zijn en afgewerkt met natuursteen. GYMNASIUM from 1919-1921 adjoining the northern side gable of the caretaker's residence and forming part of the complex of the former girls' HBS, but set back somewhat in relation to the residence. The building is erected on a rectangular floor plan. The entrance, a double wooden door with fanlight, is located on the Mecklenburglaanzijde side within the enclosure with pergola. The building volume that joins here under the continuous gabled roof of the porter's lodge comprises the entrance vestibule, three toilets, the cloakroom and the original service kitchen. The corner at Waldeck-Pyrmontlaan is rounded and contains three narrow rectangular windows and is crowned by a bell-shaped dome. Behind this building volume, wholly facing Waldeck-Pyrmontlaan, is the actual gymnasium under a (higher) gabled roof, the gable ends of which are curved and finished with ashlar stone.
