Omschrijving "Labor Nobilitat", Hoflaan 30-34.
Inleiding:
Vrijstaand blok van twee identieke WOONHUIZEN en een gecombineerd WOON/BEDRIJFSPAND (no.34) iets terugliggend ten opzichte van de rooilijn achter een smeedijzeren hek, gebouwd in 1885 in neo-Renaissance stijl naar ontwerp van architect B.H. Beijderwellen.
Omschrijving:
Het blok bestaat uit twee bouwlagen en een zolderverdieping onder een met pannen bedekt schilddak op rechthoekige plattegrond opgetrokken in rode baksteen, afgewisseld door decoratief metselwerk van gele baksteen. Plint, dorpels en sluitstenen zijn van natuursteen. Rechthoekige (schuif)vensters met in de bovenlichten glas-in-lood.
Tussen de begane grond en de eerste verdieping een doorlopende cordonlijst. Op de eerste verdieping telt elk pand drie vensters waarboven architraven met bladmotief. De architraven van de middelste vensters dragen een gebogen fronton met in de timpaan een leeuwekop.
Rijk gedecoreerde daklijst op houten consoles.
Het meest noordelijk gelegen pand heeft op de begane grond twee rechthoekige schuifvensters en geheel links de deur, met in de rollagen sluitstenen met decoratieve kopjes.
Boven de daklijst in de as van het middelste venster, een dakkapel met gedecoreerde klauwstukken en een fronton.
Het middelste pand is, op de positie van de deur na, hier geheel rechts, identiek aan links gelegen pand, no. 30.
Het meest zuidelijk gelegen pand betreft een gecombineerd woon-/bedrijfspand. Op de begane grond drie rondbogen met boogstenen van natuursteen waarin respektievelijk: hamer, nijptang, troffel en spatel staan afgebeeld. De twee dubbele deuren behoren tot de bedrijfsruimte de deur rechts vormt de ingang voor de bovenverdieping.
Tussen de consoles van de daklijst de woorden "LABOR" (links) en "NOBILITAT" (rechts).
In de hals van de gevel een rechthoekig venster waarboven een gebogen fronton met jaartal 1885, aan weerszijden doorlopend in een cordonlijst.
De top van de gevel op traditionele wijze: fronton bekroond met gietijzeren siernaald.
Waardering:
Rijk gedecoreerd blok van twee neo-Renaissance woonhuizen en één gecombineerd woon- en bedrijfspand van algemeen belang vanwege architectuurhistorische waarde. Alsook van cultuurhistorisch belang vanwege zijn gecombineerde functie.

Free-standing block of two identical RESIDENTIAL HOUSES and a combined RESIDENTIAL/BUSINESS BUILDING (no. 34) set back somewhat from the building line behind wrought-iron railing, built in 1885 in Neo-Renaissance style to the design of architect B.H. Beijderwellen.
Description:
The block consists of two storeys and an attic floor beneath a hipped roof covered with tiles, on a rectangular plan, constructed in red brick, interspersed with decorative brickwork of yellow brick. Plinth, sills and voussoirs are of natural stone. Rectangular (sash) windows with glass-in-lead in the fanlights.
Between the ground floor and the first floor a continuous stringcourse. On the first floor each building has three windows above which architraves with leaf motif. The architraves of the middle windows support a curved pediment with a lion's head in the tympanum.
Richly decorated cornice on wooden consoles.
The northernmost situated building has on the ground floor two rectangular sash windows and the door at the far left, with in the arched courses voussoirs with decorative heads.
Above the cornice in line with the middle window, a roof dormer with decorated corner brackets and a pediment.
The middle building is, apart from the position of the door, which is here at the far right, identical to the building on the left, no. 30.
The southernmost situated building is a combined residential/business building. On the ground floor three round arches with natural stone voussoirs in which respectively: hammer, pliers, trowel and spatula are depicted. The two double doors belong to the business space; the door on the right forms the entrance to the upper floor.
Between the consoles of the cornice the words "LABOR" (left) and "NOBILITAT" (right).
In the neck gable a rectangular window above which a curved pediment with the date 1865, continuing at both sides in a stringcourse.
The top of the facade in traditional manner: pediment crowned with cast-iron ornamental finial.
Valuation:
Richly decorated block of two Neo-Renaissance residential houses and one combined residential and business building of general importance due to architectural-historical value. Also of cultural-historical significance due to its combined function.
