Inleiding
WOONHUIS annex bedrijfspand, waarvan de koopakten teruggaan tot 1816, maar waarschijnlijk daterend uit eind 18de eeuw. Gelegen aan de voet van de zuidzijde van de dijk in het dijkdorp Sleeuwijk. Tussen het vroegere boerderijgedeelte en de smederij ligt het woongedeelte. Na de watersnoodramp in 1953 is de lemen zijmuur aan de kant van de lage dakvoet vervangen door een stenen muur met hogere ramen. Aan de achterkant werd de koeiengroep vervangen door een eigentijdse ingang en sanitaire voorzieningen. Bij het huis hoort een boomgaard met hoogstamfruitbomen.
BeschrijvingHet dijkhuis met de onder hetzelfde dak gelegen bedrijfsgedeelten heeft een niet zonder meer afleesbare plattegrond. Vermoedelijk hebben we te maken met een ouder rechthoekig deel, waartegen in de gehele lengte een aanbouw is geplaatst, waarin de keuken, bijkeuken en kelder liggen. Het pand heeft de bedrijfsingang van de smidse met travalje aan de voorkant en de hoofdingang van het eenlaags woonhuis aan de zijkant. In het gepotdekselde achterste bedrijfsgedeelte liggen onder een rieten lessenaardak de bedrijfsingang en de vernieuwde achteringang van het huis. Het is gedekt met een rieten wolfdak met dakraam boven de hoofdingang en een lang hellend dak met lage dakvoet over de aanbouw, die ter plaatse van de smidse met pannen is gedekt. De schoorsteen op de nok van het dak markeert de plaats van de brandmuur tussen woon- en bedrijfsgedeelte, waar op de aansluiting met het lessenaardak een eiken ankerbalkgebint ligt.
Aan de voorzijde ligt in de volle breedte de volledig in oude staat bewaarde smidse. De eiken travalje gedekt met Oudhollandse pannen ligt voor de deels gepotdekselde en in handvormbaksteen en kruisverband met vlechtingen opgetrokken muur. Het bevat een 12-ruitsvenster met luiken, en twee openingen die met opgeklampte luiken worden afgesloten. Een vijfentwintigruits venster markeert de plaats van de smidse in de zijgevel die is opgetrokken uit handvorm baksteen in staand verband met klezoren. De eenvoudige voordeur met laag bovenlicht geeft direct toegang tot een ruime kamer met twee zesruitschuifvensters. In de muren staafankers met geometrische inkerving. In het gepotdekselde bedrijfsgedeelte met bakstenen voet liggen twee opgeklampte luiken. Voor het huis loopt een smalle stoep vanIJsselsteen. De tussen de bedrijfsgedeelten gelegen woon- en slaapkamer op de zolder bezitten bedsteden en kasten met opgeklampte deuren. Kleine trapjes verbinden deze kamers met elkaar en met de lager gelegen kamer en keuken in de aanbouw. Tussen de oorspronkelijke keuken en smidse ligt een lage kelder. Balkenzoldering in de smederij en het woonhuis.
Waardering
Het pand is van cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische ontwikkeling en als voorbeeld van een bedrijfs-/annex woonmonument verbonden met de ambachtelijke bedrijfsgeschiedenis. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege de typologische zeldzaamheid en gaafheid van de samenstellende onderdelen in haar functionele samenhang. Introduction
DWELLING HOUSE with business premises, the purchase deeds of which go back to 1816, but probably dating from the late 18th century. Located at the foot of the south side of the dike in the dike village of Sleeuwijk. Between the former farmyard section and the smithy lies the residential section. After the water disaster in 1953 the clay side wall on the side of the low roof edge was replaced by a stone wall with higher windows. At the rear the cattle section was replaced by a contemporary entrance and sanitary facilities. With the house belongs an orchard with standard fruit trees.
DescriptionThe dike house with the business sections under the same roof has a plan that is not immediately legible. We presumably have to do with an older rectangular section, against which an extension has been placed along its entire length, in which the kitchen, scullery and cellar lie. The building has the business entrance of the smithy with a travail on the front and the main entrance of the single-storey dwelling house on the side. In the cement-rendered rear business section under a thatched lean-to roof lie the business entrance and the renewed rear entrance of the house. It is covered with a thatched half-hipped roof with roof dormer above the main entrance and a long sloping roof with low roof edge over the extension, which at the location of the smithy is covered with tiles. In the cement-rendered business section with brick base lie two clamped shutters. In front of the house runs a narrow stoep of IJssel stone. The renewed rear and side wall are built from machine brick and have contemporary windows. Internally the dwelling house has well-preserved its layout and fittings. The bedroom and sleeping room on the first floor located between the business sections have built-in beds and cupboards with clamped doors. Small stairs connect these rooms with each other and with the lower-lying room and kitchen in the extension. Between the original kitchen and smithy lies a low cellar. The building is of cultural-historical importance as a particular expression of social-economic development and as an example of a business/dwelling monument connected with craft business history.
