Inleiding
Op de hoek van de Honthorststraat en het Museumplein in 1907 tot stand gekomen VILLA met bijbehorend hekwerk naar een historiserend ontwerp met neo-classicistische stijl en neo-maniëristische detailleringen van G.J. Venemans in opdracht van J.C.F. Knapp jr.
Omschrijving
Op een samengestelde plattegrond opgetrokken bakstenen villa op een natuurstenen plint bestaande uit een hoofdverdieping, eerste verdieping, een kleinere tweede verdieping en een kapverdieping onder een overstekende daklijst, aan de onderzijde voorzien van klossen, waarboven een mansardedak met leien waarop twee gepleisterde schoorstenen. Langs de 'knik' van het mansardedak loopt een gootlijst. Alle rechthoekige vensters met natuurstenen onderdorpels zijn regelmatig in de gevels geplaatst. De hoeken zijn voorzien van lisenen.
De voorzijde aan de Honthorststraat heeft een flauw risalerende middentravee van één vensteras breed welke door de gootlijst breekt en eindigt in een dakkapel met een gepleisterde en verhoogde decoratieve lijstgevel. De entree, met rechthoekige deur en door roeden onderverdeelde zij- en bovenlichten, bevindt zich in een natuurstenen rondboogvormige portiek en is toegankelijk via een eveneens natuurstenen stoep. Boven het portiek een gevelsteen met daarin gebeiteld: ANNO 1907. De twee zijtraveeën hebben over de hoofdverdieping ieder een halfronde erker met bovenliggend balkon met een sierijzeren balustrade.
De zijgevel aan het Museumplein (W) heeft op de hoofdverdieping in de drie vensterassen brede middentravee een grote op vijfhoekige basis uitgevoerde erker met bovenliggend balkon met sierijzeren balustrade. In de kap, boven elke travee, drie dakkapellen met getoogde lijstgevel.
Aan de achterzijde bevindt zich in de risalerende middentravee en ter hoogte van de hoofdverdieping eveneens een op vijfhoekige basis gerealiseerde erker. In het dak vier dakkapellen.
De linkerzijgevel (O) heeft op de eerste verdieping twee blinde vensters te weerszijden van een rondboogvormig venster. De overige vensters in deze gevel, waarvan sommige gekoppeld, liggen diep in het muurvlak. Boven de middentravee een brede dakkapel.
Aan de straatzijde een sierijzeren hek op een bakstenen plint met voor de ingang twee natuurstenen hekpijlers waartussen twee sierijzeren draaihekken.
Waardering
Op de hoek van Honthorststraat en Museumplein gesitueerde in historiserende stijl gerealiseerde villa van belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde alsmede van belang vanwege de stedebouwkundige waarde als onderdeel van de villabebouwing aan en rondom het Museumplein.

Description
Brick villa erected on a composite ground plan, on a natural stone plinth, consisting of a ground floor, first floor, a smaller second floor and an attic storey under an overhanging cornice, furnished at the underside with consoles, above which a mansard roof with slate tiles, on which two rendered chimneys. Along the 'kink' of the mansard roof runs a gutter moulding. All rectangular windows with natural stone sills are regularly positioned in the facades. The corners are provided with pilasters.
The front elevation facing Honthorststraat has a shallow projecting central bay one window-opening wide, which breaks through the gutter moulding and terminates in a roof dormer with a rendered and raised decorative cornice-topped facade. The entrance, with rectangular door and side- and fanlights subdivided by glazing bars, is situated in a natural stone round-arched portico and is accessible via an equally natural stone stoep. Above the portico a stone tablet with chiselled inscription: ANNO 1907. The two outer bays each have on the ground floor a semicircular bay window with balcony above featuring an ornamental iron balustrade.

The left side elevation (E) has on the first floor two blind windows to either side of a round-arched window. The remaining windows in this elevation, some of which are coupled, lie deep within the wall plane. Above the central bay a broad roof dormer.
On the street side an ornamental iron fence on a brick plinth with two natural stone gateposts in front of the entrance between which two ornamental iron swing gates.
