Inleiding
In 1912 opgetrokken op de hoek van Johannes Vermeerstraat en Teniersstraat aan drie zijden vrijstaande VILLA naar een ontwerp van K.P.C. de Bazel in Rationalistische trant met Egyptische invloeden in de detaillering in opdracht van J.C. Loman.
Omschrijving
Op een samengestelde plattegrond gebouwd bakstenen woonhuis op een eveneens bakstenen basement voorzien van cordonbanden bestaande uit een hoofdverdieping, eerste verdieping en een kapverdieping onder een sterk overkragende mansardekap met sierkorbelen. Het dak is bedekt met leien. Onder de daklijst rondom de gehele gevel een fries met meanderpatronen. Deze zelfde patronen zijn ook te vinden in de muurvlakken boven elk venster.
De risaliet van de voorgevel (O) is zowel op hoofd- als eerste verdieping voorzien van een groot kruisvenster met hardstenen onderdorpel. De ingang in het teruggerooide geveldeel ligt achter een portaal dat wordt gedekt door een tentdak. Het portaal steunt op vier geometrisch bewerkte houten kolommen die op hun beurt rusten op een bakstenen plint. Rechthoekige eikehouten deur met naastliggend glas-in-lood venster. Ook in dit geveldeel grote kruisvensters. Dakkapel met tweeruitsvenster.
Rechterzijgevel aan de Teniersstraat met vijf identieke kruisvensters en twee dakkapellen. Rechts een lage aanbouw over de hoofdverdieping gedekt door een tentdak met leien met overkragende daklijst.
Linkerzijgevel met risaliet en erkeruitbouw over hoofdverdieping met bovenliggend balcon. In de erker een tweede ingang toegankelijk via een hardstenen stoep. Boven de risaliet balcon met borstwering.
Gemetselde schoorsteen aan westzijde.
Waardering
Woonhuis in rationalistische stijl van algemeen belang wegens architectuurhistorische en cultuurhistorische waarde, detaillering geënt op Egyptische geometrische motieven. Pand wegens stedebouwkundige en ensemblewaarde als beeldbepalend onderdeel van de omringende villabebouwing rondom het Museumplein. Bovendien van belang in het oeuvre van K.P.C. de Bazel.

A brick residential building built on a composite plan and likewise resting on a brick basement provided with string courses, consisting of a ground floor, first floor and an attic storey beneath a steeply overhanging mansard roof with decorative corbels. The roof is covered with slate. Below the cornice running around the entire gable is a frieze with meander patterns. These same patterns are also found in the wall surfaces above each window.
The risalit of the front facade (E) is provided on both ground and first floor with a large cross window with hardstone under-sill. The entrance in the recessed gable section is behind a portico covered by a tent roof. The portico is supported on four geometrically worked timber columns which in turn rest on a brick plinth.
