Inleiding
Aan J.J. Viottastraat gelegen deel van op een L-vormige plattegrond op de hoek van Cornelis Schuytstraat en J.J. Viottastraat in 1917 opgetrokken blok van vijf geschakelde EENGEZINSWONINGEN in Amsterdamse School-stijl naar een ontwerp van G.F. La Croix in opdracht van H. van der Schaar. Aan de zijde van Cornelis Schuytstraat een in Amsterdamse School-stijl vormgegeven TUINHEK.
In 1977 veranderd tot dependence van H.A.V.O.-school voor meisjes 'De Breitner' door J.M. Bantjes.
Omschrijving
Aan de J.J. Viottastraat gelegen woning bestaande uit drie bouwlagen en gebouwd onder een geknikt door rode pannen gedekt dak met bewerkte gootlijst. Onder de gootlijst een eveneens bewerkt fries.
In de linkertravee beganegronds en op de eerste verdieping een licht naar buiten kragende driehoekerker omgeven door een inspringende bakstenen omlijsting met in drieën verdeelde vensters met ruitvormig onderverdeelde bovenlichten. De brede houten raamposten van deze vensters zijn voorzien van decoratief snijwerk.
De middentravee met beganegronds en op de verdieping twee eenruitsvensters waarvan de bovenlichten beganegronds ruitvormig en op de verdieping verticaal zijn onderverdeeld.
In de rechtertravee diepgelegen paraboolvormige en geknikte entree omgeven door een in decoratief metselwerk uitgevoerde omlijsting. Rechthoekige deur waarin klein raam met door een Andreaskruis onderverdeeld paraboolvormig bovenlicht. Rechts van de entree eenruitsvenster met ruitvormig onderverdeeld bovenlicht. Op de eerste verdieping in de rechtertravee twee eenruitsvensters met verticaal onderverdeelde bovenlichten. De ramen in de dakkapellen zijn ruitvormig onderverdeeld met smalle verticaal onderverdeelde bovenlichten.
De gevel is verder voorzien van decoratief metselwerk.
Waardering
Deel van bouwblok van belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde. Tevens van beeldbepalend belang als onderdeel van een bouwblok dat gelegen is op de hoek van Cornelis Schuytstraat en J.J. Viottastraat.

Viottastraat in Amsterdam School style after a design by G.F. La Croix on commission of H. van der Schaar. On the side of Cornelis Schuytstraat a GARDEN FENCE designed in Amsterdam School style.
In 1977 converted to a dependency of the H.A.V.O. school for girls 'De Breitner' by J.M. Bantjes.
Description
Dwelling located on J.J. Viottastraat consisting of three storeys and constructed under a broken roof covered with red tiles with worked gutter course. Under the gutter course an equally worked frieze.
In the left bay on the ground floor and on the first storey a slightly projecting triangular bay window surrounded by a recessed brick surround with windows subdivided into three parts with lozenge-subdivided fanlights. The broad wooden window frames of these windows are provided with decorative carved work.
The middle bay with ground floor and storey two single-pane windows of which the fanlights on the ground floor are lozenge-subdivided and on the storey are vertically subdivided.
In the right bay a recessed parabola-shaped and angled entrance surrounded by a surround executed in decorative brickwork. Rectangular door with small window with parabola-shaped fanlight subdivided by a St. Andrew's cross. To the right of the entrance a single-pane window with lozenge-subdivided fanlight.
