Inleiding
Rechterdeel (O.) van een in 1900-1901 tot stand gekomen DUBBELVILLA, in opdracht van Z. Deenik en Zn. ontworpen door J. Herman in Overgangsarchitectuur met invloeden van de Art Nouveau. De tuin aan de achterzijde van de villa grenst aan een vijver van het Vondelpark.
Omschrijving
Rechterdeel van een bakstenen villa bestaande uit vijf bouwlagen gebouwd op een rechthoekige plattegrond. Zowel aan de zijde van de voorgevel als aan de zijde van de achtergevel een met rode pannen gedekt dakschild met dakkapel. Het tussenliggende dakdeel is plat. De voorgevel heeft, gelijk de andere gevels, een natuurstenen plint met een omlopend kader rond devan smeedijzeren traliewerk voorziene souterrainvensters.
Een natuurstenen trap van vijf treden leidt tot een uitspringend portiek met lessenaarsdak en natuurstenen beëindiging. Originele tweedelige deur met smeedwerk. Van de vensters is de roedenverdeling in hoofdlijnen oorspronkelijk, in detail echter later vervangen. De toegangspartij vindt ook in het bovendeel van de gevel een accentuering, licht risalerend ten opzichte van de rest van de gevel. Een uitdrukking die versterkt wordt door de teruggezette gevel van het naastgelegen pand, waarmee deze villa een eenheid vormt. Eindigend in een schachtachtige opbouw met hijsbalk, plat dak en rondboognissen, waarvan twee nog met tegeltableaux met florale voorstelling. Balcon op eerste verdieping met smeedijzeren hekwerk met op de Nieuwe Kunst geïnspireerde ornamentiek, steunend op gietijzeren korbelen op kraagstenen. Baksteendecoraties onder de houten kroonlijst, waartegen een tweetal bijzonder uitgewerkte muurankers. Verschillende natuurstenen hoek- en sluitstenen. Twee langgerekte tegeltableaux van de firma Lotus (ontwerper: Lambertus Nienhuis), elk voorstellende een frontaal weergegeven ooievaar alsmede tegeltableaux met florale decoratie. Verder verschillende muurnissen waar in oorsprong eveneens tegeltableaux gezeten zullen hebben.
De bakstenen zijgevel wordt afgesloten door een lijst met links en rechts drie trapgevel-treden. Driezijdige erker over hoofd- en eerste verdieping met lessenaarsdak met rode pannen en houten chaletachtige bouwonderdelen. Verder een kleinere maar overeenkomstige erker ter hoogte van de hoofdverdieping. Getoogde muurnissen en lisenen waarbinnen vensters en tegeltableaux: twee medaillons met florale voorstellingen, een vierkant tableau voorstellende een pauw en een rechthoekig tableau voorstellende een vrouwefiguur temidden van egelantieren, verder floraal decoratieve tableaux.
Achtergevel met balcon en serre. Diverse figuratieve en decoratieve tegeltableaux gefabriceerd bij De Distel. De voorstellingen van de figuratieve tegeltableaux refereren aan de Jeugd en de Schoonheid.
Waardering
Rechterdeel van DUBBELVILLA van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde. Eveneens van belang als onderdeel van het enige in Amsterdam als zodanig voorkomende villapark. De detaillering en veelheid aan fraaie tegeltableaux is van kunsthistorische waarde. De situering direct naast het Vondelpark vormt een belangrijke ensemblewaarde.

Right section of a brick villa consisting of five storeys built on a rectangular floor plan. Both on the side of the front facade and on the side of the rear facade a hipped roof covered with red tiles with a dormer window. The intermediate roof section is flat. The front facade has, like the other facades, a natural stone plinth with an encircling frame around the basement windows fitted with wrought-iron ironwork.
A natural stone staircase of five steps leads to a projecting porch with a lean-to roof and natural stone termination. Original two-part door with wrought metalwork. The glazing bars of the windows are original in main lines, but later replaced in detail. The entrance section is also accentuated in the upper part of the facade, slightly projecting in relation to the rest of the facade. An expression which is strengthened by the recessed facade of the adjacent building, with which this villa forms a unit. Ending in a shaft-like structure with lifting beam, flat roof and round-arch niches, two of which still have tile tableaux with floral representation. Balcony on the first storey with wrought-iron railings with ornamental elements inspired by Art Nouveau, supported on cast-iron corbels on corbelled stones. Brick decorations under the wooden cornice, against which two particularly elaborated wall anchors. Various natural stone corner and closing stones. Two elongated tile tableaux by the Lotus company (designer: Lambertus Nienhuis), each depicting a frontally represented stork as well as tile tableaux with floral decoration. The brick side facade is terminated by a moulding with left and right three stepped gable steps. Three-sided bay window over ground and first storey with a lean-to roof with red tiles and wooden chalet-like building components. Further a smaller but corresponding bay window at the level of the ground floor. Arcaded wall niches and pilaster strips within which windows and tile tableaux: two medallions with floral representations, a square tableau depicting a peacock and a rectangular tableau depicting a female figure amid eglantines, further floral decorative tableaux.

Valuation
Right section of DOUBLE VILLA of general importance due to its architectural and cultural-historical value. Likewise of importance as part of the only villa park in Amsterdam as such. The detailing and abundance of fine tile tableaux is of art-historical value. The positioning directly beside the Vondelpark constitutes an important ensemble value.
