Inleiding
In 1921-1922 tot stand gekomen PASTORIE naar ontwerp van A.J. Kropholler in opdracht van het kerkbestuur van de parochie St. Rita in traditionalistische stijl, gelegen op de hoek van het Hagedoornplein en de Buiksloterweg, zuidelijk van de St. Ritakerk en omgeven door een smeedijzeren hekwerk met bakstenen pijlers.
Omschrijving
Op een samengestelde plattegrond uit donkerbruine baksteen opgetrokken pastorie bestaande uit een beganegrond, twee verdiepingen en een kapverdieping onder een met rode pannen gedekt zadeldak met lage schoorstenen en dakkapellen. De voorgevel, die uit acht traveeen bestaat, wordt geleed door verschillende grote meerruitsvensters, regelmatig over de gevel verdeeld. Het linkerdeel heeft op de begane grond een rechthoekige vooruitspringende erker met op de eerste verdieping een balkon achter een opengewerkte bakstenen borstwering, die in het midden gedeelte op de verdieping overgaat in een loggia met twee rondbogen en vierzijdige natuurstenen deelzuil. Gesloten rechterzijgevel met op begane grond en op de verdiepingen centraal in het gevelvlak geplaatste vensters van verschillende grootte. Op de tweede verdieping gevelsteen met jaartal AD 1921. Puntgevel met natuurstenen bekroning in de vorm van een kruis. Aan de achterzijde, gelegen aan de Buiksloterweg, een aanbouw, bestaande uit twee verdiepingen onder een plat dak achter een gemetselde, aan de bovenzijde opengewerkte, borstwering. Zes- en negenruitsvensters met natuurstenen hoekblokken zijn regelmatig en veelal paarsgewijs in de gevel geplaatst. In het noordoosten sluit de aanbouw aan bij de misdienaarsruimte van de kerk. De entree van de pastorie bevindt zich in de zuidoostelijke hoek van de aanbouw, aan de Buiksloterweg, en wordt gevormd door een spitsboogvormig portaal met een lage stoep. Boven het portaal een klein balkon met opengewerkte borstwering. In het inwendige in het trappenhuis een groot glas-in-lood venster, gesigneerd KT 1948, met voorstellingen uit het leven van de H. Rita, door de zusters Dominicanessen geschonken. Op beide verdiepingen wordt de overloop gedeeld door twee spitsbogen op natuurstenen deelzuil.
Waardering
In- en exterieur van de pastorie van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde, in een voor Kropholler kenmerkende traditionalistische stijl met naast het veelvuldige gebruik van baksteen in natuursteen uitgevoerde details. Description
A parsonage built on a complex ground plan of dark brown brick consisting of a ground floor, two storeys and an attic storey beneath a gabled roof covered with red tiles with low chimneys and roof dormers. The front facade, which consists of eight bays, is articulated by various large multi-pane windows, regularly distributed across the facade. The left part has on the ground floor a rectangular projecting oriel window with on the first storey a balcony behind an openwork brick parapet, which in the central section on the storey transitions into a loggia with two round arches and a four-sided natural stone mullion. Closed right-side facade with windows of various sizes placed centrally in the facade plane on the ground floor and on the storeys. On the second storey a facade stone with the date AD 1921. Pointed gable with a natural stone top in the form of a cross. At the rear, situated on the Buiksloterweg, an extension consisting of two storeys beneath a flat roof behind a masonry parapet that is openwork at the top. Six- and nine-pane windows with natural stone corner blocks are regularly and mostly paired in the facade. In the northeast the extension adjoins the altar server room of the church. The entrance to the parsonage is located in the southeastern corner of the extension, on the Buiksloterweg, and is formed by a pointed-arch portal with a low step. Above the portal a small balcony with openwork parapet. In the interior in the stairwell a large stained-glass window, signed KT 1948, with representations from the life of St. Rita, donated by the Dominican sisters. On both storeys the landing is divided by two pointed arches on natural stone mullions.
Evaluation
Interior and exterior of the parsonage of general importance because of its cultural and architectural-historical value, in a traditionalist style characteristic of Kropholler featuring besides frequent use of brick details executed in natural stone. Of urban planning importance because of its location at the southeastern corner of the Buiksloterham, also of importance as part of a large ecclesiastical complex.
