PORTIERSWONING. Laat 19e eeuwse, rode bakstenen portierswoning op kruisvormige plattegrond onder vier met grijze Oudhollandse pannen gedekte zadeldaken (met op elk schild een kruis van rode pannen), gelegen ten westen van de oprijlaan naast het hoofdinrijhek aan de Berkenallee. Op het punt waar de daken samenkomen een vierkante bakstenen schoorsteen. De gevels van de woning, die door gele bakstenen strekken zijn opgesierd, zijn op de begane grond voorzien van meerruits-schuifvensters met hardstenen kozijnen en luiken. De vier kopgevels, die op de windrichtingen georienteerd zijn, vertonen op de verdieping een klein halfrond venster, waarvan de roeden aan de bovenzijde in een gotische tracering, bestaande uit twee spitsbogen en een vierpas, samenkomen. De kopgevels zijn verder voorzien van een versierde houten windveer met een makelaar. De naar de oprijlaan gerichte oostgevel heeft in de linkergevel rechts naast het venster een korfboogvormige toegangsdeur. Description
PORTER'S LODGE. Late 19th-century red brick porter's lodge on a cruciform plan under four hipped roofs covered with grey Old Dutch tiles (with a cross of red tiles on each slope), situated west of the drive next to the main entrance gate on the Berkenallee. At the point where the roofs meet, a square brick chimney. The facades of the lodge, which are adorned with yellow brick courses, are provided on the ground floor with multi-pane sash windows with stone dressings and shutters. The four gable-ends, which are oriented to the cardinal directions, display on the upper storey a small semicircular window, whose glazing bars combine at the top in a Gothic tracery consisting of two pointed arches and a quatrefoil. The gable-ends are furthermore provided with a decorated wooden weather vane with a pointer. The east facade facing the drive has in the left wall, to the right of the window, a segmental arched entrance door. The west facade has in the right wall of the gable-end, to the right of the window, an entrance door with a segmental three-pane fanlight, whose glazing bars are placed diagonally.
The lodge, which was restored in 1975, is surrounded by a stone terrace and stands on a grey-painted plastered plinth.
