BRUG OVER BUITENGRACHT, TOEGANGSHEK NAAR VOORPLEIN EN KEERMUREN MET BALUSTRADE. Op de hoofdas van de aanleg gelegen brug tussen oprijlaan en voorplein, toegangshek en keermuren, die het voorplein naar de noordelijke arm van de buitengracht keren. Het ensemble van brug en toegangshek dateert vermoedelijk uit het begin van de 18e eeuw. De rode bakstenen rondboogbrug eindigt aan de noordzijde in twee halfrond uitzwenkende keermuren. De brug heeft een smeedijzeren balustrade (thans blauw geschilderd) aan weerszijden, bestaande uit drie taps toelopende stijlen met cannelures en bladmotief en twee regels, die aan de noordzijde in een knop eindigen en aan de zuidzijde in de twee samengestelde blokpijlers van het toegangshek naar de oprit steken. Deze gegroefde zandstenen pijlers vertonen een vierkante grondslag en vierkante geprofileerde afdekplaat en worden door een zandstenen vaasvormig bovenstuk met acanthusblad-motief bekroond. Op de westelijke pijler een koperen luidklok.
Het dubbelesiersmeedijzeren hek (thans blauw geschilderd) is uit afwisselend hoge en lage spijlen met verguld spitse punten samengesteld, en wordt door drie regels bijeengehouden. Aan weerszijden van het hek een rode bakstenen keermuur, die iets terughelt en waarvan de bovenzijde naar het midden toe in een flauwe boog inzwenkt. De muur, die in de tweede helft van de 19e eeuw is opgetrokken en die tot de bouwhuizen is doorgetrokken, is door een balustrade van laat 17e-eeuwse zandstenen pijlers, waartussen een houten spijlenhek, afgesloten. De pijlers zijn van een pijnappelvormige bekroning voorzien en vertonen bouwsporen van andere regelverbindingen dan die van het huidige hek. Vermoedelijk zijn de pijlers van elders afkomstig.

Description
BRIDGE OVER OUTER MOAT, ACCESS GATE TO FORECOURT AND RETAINING WALLS WITH BALUSTRADE. Bridge located on the main axis of the layout between access drive and forecourt, access gate and retaining walls, which turn the forecourt toward the northern arm of the outer moat. The ensemble of bridge and access gate presumably dates from the beginning of the 18th century. The red brick semicircular arch bridge ends on the northern side in two semicircularly projecting retaining walls. The bridge has a wrought iron balustrade (now painted blue) on either side, consisting of three tapering uprights with flutes and leaf motif and two rails, which end in a knob on the northern side and on the southern side engage in the two composite block pillars of the access gate to the driveway. These fluted sandstone pillars display a square ground plan and square profiled coping and are crowned by a sandstone vase-shaped top with acanthus leaf motif. On the western pillar a copper bell.
The double ornate wrought iron gate (now painted blue) is composed of alternating high and low spikes with gilded pointed tips, and is held together by three rails. On either side of the gate a red brick retaining wall, which slopes slightly back and whose top curves slightly inward toward the center. The wall, which was constructed in the second half of the 19th century and extended to the farmhouses, is closed off by a balustrade of late 17th-century sandstone pillars, between which a wooden spike fence, the pillars being provided with a pineapple-shaped crest and showing building traces of other rail connections than those of the present gate. The pillars presumably come from elsewhere.
The ensemble was restored in 1974. Originally the pillars had a pineapple crest.
