Inleiding
Vml. DUBBEL WOONHUIS in de wand van de Lindenstraat. Omstreeks 1900 gebouwd in eclectische stijl en thans in gebruik als dubbele wooneenheid met veertien appartementen. Het interieur van de panden is daartoe in 1975 voor de Woningvereniging Vaals verbouwd. Hierbij zijn aan de achterzijde de topgevel plus een balkon verwijderd en vervolgens enkele brandtrappen aangebracht. De beide dakzijden zijn van nieuwe dakkapellen voorzien. Zowel de brandtrappen als de dakkapellen zijn uitgesloten van bescherming. Het dubbele pand vormt door situering en stijl een eenheid met de appartementsgebouwen 9 A/D-11 A/D.
Omschrijving
Het appartementsgebouw heeft drie bouwlagen plus souterrain- en zolderverdieping op een rechthoekige plattegrond in lengterichting, het geheel onder een zadeldak met muldenpannen en luifelgoten op consoles. Pand nr. 13 heeft een asymmetrische gevelindeling met vier vensterassen, waarin een liseen de scheiding met pand nr. 15 aanduidt. Gepleisterde gevel met gestucte gevellijsten, kaderlijsten en vensterlijsten. Decoratieve sluitstenen in de vensterlijsten van de eerste en tweede bouwlaag.
Pand nr. 15 is voorzien van een asymmetrische gevelindeling met drie vensterassen. Geheel gestucte optrek in rustica-motief, met gestucte gevellijsten, kaderlijsten en vensterlijsten. De sluitstenen van de tweede en derde bouwlaag kenmerken zich door decoratieve ornamenten. Het middenvenster van de tweede bouwlaag is bovendien voorzien van een rondboogfronton.
