Inleiding
WINKELWOONHUIS, ca. 1900, gesitueerd in de gesloten wand van de Lindenstraat.
Zowel de aangebouwde woonvertrekken onder platte daken, dwars op de achtergevel, als het magazijn - met woonruimte op de eerste bouwlaag - dat de binnenplaats afsluit, zijn uitgesloten van bescherming.
Omschrijving
Winkelwoonhuis met rechthoekige plattegrond. Drie bouwlagen onder zadeldak in lengterichting. Het pand is grotendeels van een souterrain voorzien. Aan de achterzijde bevindt zich een binnenplaats die bereikbaar is via de inrijpoort aan de straatzijde.
Het bouwvolume aan de straatzijde heeft een vrijwel symmetrische voorgevel met drie vensterassen. De eerste bouwlaag en de centraal geplaatste erker met balkon in de tweede laag zijn gepleisterd of gestuct. De rest van de tweede en de gehele derde bouwlaag zijn opgetrokken in baksteen, met gestucte hoeklisenen en diverse stucwerkdecoraties.
In de eerste bouwlaag een segmentboogvormig houten winkelvenster met verticaal geleed bovenlicht en houten rolluik, een centraal geplaatste segmentboogvormige houten voordeur met smeedwerk en bovenlicht en een segmentboogvormige, uit drie scharnierende panelen bestaande inrijpoort met verticaal geleed bovenlicht.
Verder een geprofileerde plint met souterrainvenster en gestucte gevelvlakken met een aan de Florentijnse boog ontleend motief.
Centraal in de tweede bouwlaag bevindt zich een gepleisterde erker met balkon, geflankeerd door twee houten T-vensters in een segmentboogvormige lijst met gepleisterd vulstuk, architraven op consoles en een rollaag met gestucte sluitsteen in de vorm van een diamantkop. De dubbele balkondeur met bovenlicht is gevat in een gestucte lijst met cannelure-, zuil- en architraafmotieven, waarboven een gestucte segmentboog met vulstuk en een sluitsteen in de vorm van een leeuwekop. De twee flankerende, rechthoekige houten T-vensters van de derde bouwlaag hebben een gestucte architraaflijst op consoles, waarboven een gestuct wapenschild.
In de bakstenen achtergevel van het hoofdvolume zijn vanwege de aanbouwen twee vensterassen vrijgebleven. Segmentboogvormige houten T-vensters met zesruits roedeverdeling. De inrijpoort geeft via een open doorgang, met stalen latei in de achtergevel, toegang tot de binnenplaats.
Waardering
Het winkelwoonhuis is van cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van een typologische ontwikkeling. De architectuurhistorische waarden worden bepaald door de bouwstijl, de hoogwaardige esthetische kwaliteit, het materiaalgebruik en de ornamentiek. Description
Shop-dwelling house with rectangular floor plan. Three storeys under a gabled roof in the longitudinal direction. The property is largely provided with a basement. On the rear side there is a courtyard accessible via the carriage entrance on the street side.
The building volume on the street side has an almost symmetrical front facade with three window bays. The first storey and the centrally placed bay window with balcony on the second storey are plastered or stuccoed. The remainder of the second and the entire third storey are constructed in brick, with stuccoed corner pilasters and various stucco decorations.
On the first storey a segmental-arched wooden shop window with vertically-divided fanlight and wooden roller shutter, a centrally placed segmental-arched wooden front door with metalwork and fanlight and a segmental-arched carriage entrance consisting of three hinged panels with vertically-divided fanlight.
Further a profiled plinth with basement window and stuccoed facade surfaces with a motif borrowed from the Florentine arch.
Centrally on the second storey there is a plastered bay window with balcony, flanked by two wooden T-windows in a segmental-arched frame with plastered infill, architraves on consoles and a roll moulding with stuccoed keystone in the form of a diamond head. The double balcony door with fanlight is set in a stuccoed frame with fluting, column and architrave motifs, above which a stuccoed segmental arch with infill and a keystone in the form of a lion's head. The two flanking, rectangular wooden T-windows of the third storey have a stuccoed architrave frame on consoles, above which a stuccoed shield.
In the brick rear facade of the main volume two window bays have been left free due to the extensions. Segmental-arched wooden T-windows with six-pane glazing bars. The carriage entrance provides access to the courtyard via an open passage, with steel lintel in the rear facade.
