Inleiding
Aan drie zijden vrijstaand herenhuis uit ca. 1874, gebouwd in een eclectische bouwstijl, waarin sterke invloed van de neo- renaissance.
Omschrijving
Herenhuis op rechthoekige plattegrond, bestaande uit een souterrain, drie bouwlagen en een mezzanino onder een zinken roevendak, vier vensterassen breed. De gevel is van baksteen met gepleisterde banden, negblokken en consoles, en voorzien van sierankers. Tegen de eerste bouwlaag is een gebosseerde bepleistering met rustica aangebracht op een hardstenen plint. De souterrainvensters zijn voorzien van een hekwerk met cirkelvormig smeedijzer. De vensters van de eerste bouwlaag zijn gekoppeld. De ingang, bestaande uit een paneeldeur (niet uit de bouwtijd), is in een portiek gesitueerd. De schuifvensters van de tweede bouwlaag bezitten glas-in-lood bovenlichten en spitsboogvormige omlijstingen, gescheiden door gekoppelde pilasters met Toscaanse kapitelen. Onder de hardstenen vensterbanken is voluutvormig beeldhouwwerk aangebracht.
De schuifvensters van de derde bouwlaag bezitten T-kozijnen en glas-in-lood bovenlichten. Voorts bezitten zij geknikte omlijstingen, gescheiden door gekoppelde pilasters met Ionische kapitelen en deels van decoratief pleisterwerk voorziene schachten. De pilasters rusten op kleine leeuwekopjes en zijn onderling verbonden door een kraallijst. Onder de vensterbanken zijn diamantkoppen aangebracht. In de mezzanino bevinden zich twee ovaalvormige vensters en in het midden twee gekoppelde rondboogvensters, gescheiden door gecanneleerde pilasters met Toscaanse kapitelen. Onder de vensterbanken van de gekoppelde vensters is voluutvormig pleisterwerk aangebracht, waarin een maskerkop is opgenomen. De kroonlijst rust op zwaar versierde, gekoppelde triglyfconsoles met guirlandes en is in het midden opgetrokken tot een driehoekig fronton op klossen.
De linkergevel is gepleisterd.

Mansion on rectangular plan, consisting of a basement, three storeys and a mezzanine beneath a zinc-covered glazing-bar roof, four window bays wide. The facade is of brickwork with rendered bands, rusticated blocks and consoles, and provided with ornamental wall anchors. Against the first storey is applied rusticated rendered plasterwork with rustica on a sandstone plinth. The basement windows are provided with ironwork featuring circular wrought iron. The windows of the first storey are coupled. The entrance, consisting of a panelled door (not original), is situated in a portico. The sash windows of the second storey possess leaded glass fanlights and pointed-arch-shaped surrounds, separated by coupled pilasters with Tuscan capitals. Below the sandstone window sills is scroll-shaped sculptured work.
The sash windows of the third storey possess T-shaped frames and leaded glass fanlights. Furthermore they possess angled surrounds, separated by coupled pilasters with Ionic capitals and partly decorated with ornamental plasterwork shafts. The pilasters rest on small lion-head corbels and are interconnected by a beading moulding. Below the window sills are diamond bosses. In the mezzanine are two oval-shaped windows and in the centre two coupled round-arch windows, separated by fluted pilasters with Tuscan capitals. Below the window sills of the coupled windows is applied scroll-shaped plasterwork, incorporating a mask head. The cornice rests on heavily decorated, coupled triglyph consoles with garlands and is in the centre raised to a triangular pediment on blocks.

Valuation
Mansion of architectural historical significance as a representative example of a dwelling house in a rich, eclectic architectural style. Main form, materials and detailing are well preserved. The visually prominent location on Koninginnegracht adds further value.
