Inleiding SIERVAAS, vrijstaand gesitueerd in de middenberm van de Ubbo Emmiussingel, vervaardigd in circa 1885 met een vormgeving in Empire-stijl. Omschrijving De vaas is vervaardigd van zink en geplaatst op een met cement bepleisterde bakstenen sokkel van anderhalve meter hoog. Rondom de bovenzijde van de vaas is een rondboogfries aangebracht. De vaas bezit twee hengsels in bladvorm met ringen, die met een reliëf zijn bewerkt. Waardering SIERVAAS, staande in de middenberm van de Ubbo Emmiussingel, van algemeen belang vanwege haar schoonheid en zeldzaamheid en als karakteristiek voorbeeld van straatmeubilair een waardevol onderdeel van de inrichting van de openbare ruimte van de Ubbo Emmiussingel en als zodanig een belangrijk element in de hoogwaardige structuur van de singelreeks langs de zuidzijde van de binenstad van Groningen.

Introduction ORNAMENTAL VASE, standing freely positioned in the median strip of the Ubbo Emmiussingel, made around 1885 with a design in Empire style. Description The vase is made of zinc and placed on a cement-rendered brick plinth one and a half metres high. Around the upper side of the vase a round-arch frieze has been applied. The vase has two leaf-shaped handles with rings, which have been worked with relief. Valuation ORNAMENTAL VASE, standing in the median strip of the Ubbo Emmiussingel, of general importance because of its beauty and rarity and as a characteristic example of street furniture a valuable component of the arrangement of the public space of the Ubbo Emmiussingel and as such an important element in the high-quality structure of the canal ring series along the south side of the inner city of Groningen.
