Inleiding
Evenwijdig aan de weg gelegen BOERDERIJ van het middenhuis-type. In 1890 gebouwd in opdracht van het Ministerie van Justitie naar ontwerp van W.C. Metzelaar. Dit boerderijtype komt in Veenhuizen slechts drie maal voor. Ten behoeve van de woonfunctie zijn enkele aanpassingen gedaan zoals wijziging van de gevelindeling van het schuurgedeelte en toevoeging van dakkapellen en dakramen.
Omschrijving
Sober en functioneel vormgegeven boerderij van een weinig voorkomend type, het middenhuis-type, waarbij het bedrijfsgedeelte aan weerskanten van het hoger opgebouwde woonhuis is gelegen. De in baksteen opgetrokken boerderij is gedekt door een zadeldak met pannen en windveren. De lange zijgevels hebben op regelmatige afstand 4-ruits stalramen. Het deels onderkelderde (kelderramen) woonhuis heeft licht getoogde ramen met luiken (aan de westzijde met de oorspronkelijke roedenverdeling). Het zuidelijk schuurgedeelte was in gebruik als veestalling. De zuidelijke topgevel symmetrisch ingedeeld met inrijdeur met bovenlicht en staldeuren. Noordelijke topgevel symmetrisch ingedeeld met schuurdeur en staldeuren. De ventilatieschachten van het stalgedeelte zijn verwijderd.
Waardering
Boerderij van belang als essentieel en functioneel hoofdelement van het boerderijcomplex, tevens als onderdeel van architectonisch en typologisch belang. Qua type zeldzaam en betrekkelijk gaaf.

FARM located parallel to the road, of the centre-house type. Built in 1890 on the instructions of the Ministry of Justice according to the design of W.C. Metzelaar. This farmhouse type occurs in Veenhuizen only three times. In order to serve the residential function, some adaptations have been made such as modification of the facade layout of the barn section and addition of roof dormer windows and roof lights.
Description
Sober and functionally designed farmhouse of a rarely occurring type, the centre-house type, whereby the business section is located on either side of the higher constructed residential building. The farmhouse, built in brick, is covered by a gabled roof with tiles and wind ridges. The long side gables have at regular intervals 4-pane stable windows. The partly cellaried residential building (cellar windows) has slightly arched windows with shutters (on the western side with the original glazing bars). The southern barn section was in use as cattle stalling. The southern gable symmetrically laid out with carriage entrance with fanlight and stable doors. Northern gable symmetrically laid out with barn door and stable doors. The ventilation shafts of the stalling section have been removed.
Valuation
Farmhouse of significance as essential and functional principal element of the farmyard complex, also as a component of architectural and typological importance. Rare in terms of type and relatively intact.
