Inleiding
Blok van twee WONINGEN gebouwd rond 1900 in opdracht van het Ministerie van Justitie. Ontwerp, woningtype IV, van W.C. Metzelaar. De naam Flink en Vlug staat symmetrisch in de voorgevel.
Omschrijving
Evenwijdig aan de weg gelegen, functioneel gebouwd dubbel woonhuis met verdieping en aangebouwd toegangsportaal, opgetrokken uit baksteen en gedekt door een aan een zijde doorgetrokken zadeldak met pannen en windveren; schoorsteen in voorste dakschild; eenvoudig geprofileerde goot; staafankers. De gevels symmetrisch ingedeeld door lichtgetoogde vensters met luiken, hardstenen vensterbanken en oorspronkelijk 12-ruits schuiframen (thans resteert daarvan nog een 6-ruits bovenlicht) en paarsgewijs geplaatste 4-ruits steekramen. Portaal onder lessenaardak; opgeklampte deur met lichtgetoogd 2- ruits bovenlicht en 6-ruits schuifraam.

Situated parallel to the road, a functionally built semi-detached dwelling with first floor and built-in entrance portico, built of brick and covered by a gabled roof extending on one side with tiles and wind ridges; chimney in foremost roof slope; simply moulded gutter; staple anchors. The facades symmetrically arranged by cove-moulded windows with shutters, hard stone window sills and originally 12-light sash windows (now only a 6-light fanlight remains) and 4-light louvre panes placed in pairs. Portico under a sloping roof; clamped door with cove-moulded 2-light fanlight and 6-light sash window.
Evaluation
Essential component of the exceptionally valuable area Veenhuizen and of architectural, typological and urban planning importance. Unaltered.
