Inleiding
Blok van drie WONINGEN gebouwd in opdracht van het Ministerie van Justitie voor de beambten van het Derde Gesticht. De woningen zijn in 1884 ontworpen door W.C. Metzelaar volgens het toen geldende type IV. Later zijn ze aangepast volgens het type II.
Omschrijving
Evenwijdig aan de weg gelegen een bouwlaag tellend dubbel woonhuis op rechthoekige plattegrond met platte aanbouw aan achterzijde. Het geheel is uit baksteen opgetrokken in een sobere en functionele stijl en wordt gedekt door een met pannen belegd zadeldak; windveren, goot op klossen, schoorstenen in nok en voorste dakschild, staafankers. De voorgevels symmetrisch ingedeeld met zesruits schuiframen met luiken, opgeklampte deur met tweeruits bovenlicht, alle getoogd. Zijgevels blind respectievelijk voorzien van een openslaand 6-ruits raam met vast kalf.
