Inleiding
Evenwijdig aan de weg gelegen blok van twee WONINGEN van het type V en VI, gebouwd 1909 in opdracht van het Ministerie van Justitie naar ontwerp van W.C. Metzelaar. De naam Vrede en Recht staat in de voorgevel.
Omschrijving
Op rechthoekige grondslag gebouwd en uit baksteen opgetrokken dubbel woonhuis met verdieping en gedekt door een aan een zijde doorgetrokken zadeldak met pannen; schoorsteen; windveren; geprofileerde goot. De gevels worden geleed door getoogde 6-ruits schuiframen en 4-ruits steekramen onder de goot; natuurstenen vensterbanken; staafankers; opgeklampte deuren met 2-ruits bovenlicht. De linker helft is gebouwd volgens woningtype V en heeft een zijaanbouw met zadeldak. De rechter helft is gebouwd volgens woningtype VI en heeft een terugspringend gedeelte en een aanbouw met lessenaardak.

Built on a rectangular footprint and constructed of brick, a double dwelling with storey and covered by a gabled roof with tiles carried through on one side; chimney; wind vanes; moulded gutter. The facades are articulated by arched 6-paned sash windows and 4-paned hopper windows under the gutter; natural stone window sills; rod anchors; flush-fitted doors with 2-paned fanlights. The left half is built according to dwelling type V and has a side extension with gabled roof. The right half is built according to dwelling type VI and has a recessed section and an extension with sloping roof.
