Inleiding
Blok van twee WONINGEN van het door architect J.G. Robbers ontwikkelde type 2, gebouwd rond 1920 in opdracht van het Ministerie van Justitie.
De huizen zijn qua type en vormgeving visueel medebepalend voor het totaalbeeld van de Meidoornlaan.
Omschrijving
Evenwijdig aan de weg gelegen een bouwlaag tellend dubbel woonhuis op rechthoekige plattegrond. Het geheel is uit baksteen opgetrokken in een sobere en typerende Interbellum Architectuur en wordt gedekt door een zadeldak; twee dakkapellen aan de voorzijde; pannen; goot met licht overstek. De asymmetrisch ingedeelde gevels worden bepaald door een trasraam, een gekoppeld raam, een deur met bovenlicht en twee gekoppelde ramen. De scheiding tussen de woningen wordt aangegeven door licht uitkragende gemetselde lisenen.

Description
Parallel to the road, a single-storey double dwelling house on a rectangular plan. The whole is constructed of brick in a sober and characteristic Interwar Architecture and is covered by a gabled roof; two roof dormers at the front; tiles; gutter with slight overhang. The asymmetrically arranged facades are characterized by a cill window, a coupled window, a door with fanlight and two coupled windows. The division between the dwellings is indicated by slightly projecting brick pilasters.
Valuation
Housing block of cultural-historical, architectural-historical and urban-planning importance, as well as of importance for the history of the Rijkswerkinrichting Veenhuizen; furthermore of importance as a functional component of the exceptionally valuable Veenhuizen complex.
