Inleiding
SCHOOL MET WONING, gebouwd op de plaats waar eerder een uit 1826 daterende RK-kerk heeft gestaan. Na verbouwing van deze kerk tot hulpcellengebouw in 1913, gaf het Ministerie van Justitie in 1945 opdracht tot de bouw van een geheel nieuw schoolgebouw met woning. Een uitbreiding met platte aanbouw is toegevoegd evenals de vrij recente uitbreiding aan de achterzijde, die overigens buiten de bescherming valt.
Omschrijving
Gebouwd met de kenmerken van de Interbellum-architectuur. Het geheel is in baksteen opgetrokken, gepleisterd (met uitzondering van een klein gedeelte van de topgevel van het woonhuis) en gedekt door een samengesteld met pannen belegd zadeldak, deels met knik; platte aanbouw; goot op klossen. Diverse vensters met in bovenlicht horizontale roeden, westelijke gevel woonhuis met spaarvelden; erker. Topgevel met entree met zijlichten onder luifel, verticale accenten versterkt door sober decoratief metselwerk.

SCHOOL WITH DWELLING, built on the site where a Roman Catholic church dating from 1826 previously stood. After conversion of this church to an auxiliary cell block in 1913, the Ministry of Justice commissioned in 1945 the construction of an entirely new school building with dwelling. An extension with flat addition was added as well as a relatively recent extension to the rear, which however falls outside the protection.
Description
Built with the characteristics of Interbellum architecture. The whole is constructed of brick, plastered (with the exception of a small part of the gable end of the dwelling house) and covered by a composite gabled roof tiled with pans, partly with a bend; flat extension; gutter on brackets. Various windows with horizontal glazing bars in the fanlight, western facade of dwelling house with spared panels; bay window. Gable end with entrance with sidelights beneath a canopy, vertical accents enhanced by sober decorative brickwork.
