Inleiding
WOONHUIS gebouwd in 1904 voor de adjunct-directeur van landbouw in opdracht van het Ministerie van Justitie. Ontwerp, Woningtype VII, van W.C. Metzelaar. De naam 'Ruimzicht' is symmetrisch in de voorgevel geplaatst.
Omschrijving
Evenwijdig aan de weg gelegen, sober en functioneel vormgegeven woonhuis met aandacht voor ambachtelijke details. Vrijstaand met verdieping, gepleisterde gevelopbouw met gemetselde plint en banden, gedekt door een zadeldak met pannen. Schoorstenen in achterste dakschild; windveren, eenvoudig geprofileerde goot. Symmetrische opbouw met licht getoogde 6- ruits schuiframen (oorspronkelijk met persiennes) en geblokte hanekammen, natuurstenen vensterbanken met daaronder gemetselde blokken. Gepaneelde deur met 2-ruits bovenlicht. Kleinere vensters in topgevel. Platte aanbouw in noordoost hoek.

A residential house situated parallel to the road, sober and functionally designed with attention to craftsman details. Detached with one storey, rendered facade construction with brick plinth and bands, covered by a gabled roof with tiles. Chimneys in the rear roof slope; wind vanes, simply profiled gutter. Symmetrical structure with slightly arched 6-pane sash windows (originally with blinds) and fluted crow's-foot bricks, natural stone window sills with brick blocks beneath. Panelled door with 2-pane fanlight. Smaller windows in the gable. Flat extension in the northeast corner.
Valuation
Essential component of the exceptionally valuable complex Veenhuizen and of architectural, typological and urban planning importance. Well-preserved.
