Blok van twee WONINGEN gebouwd in 1908 in opdracht van het Ministerie van Justitie. Het ontwerp, woningtype IV, is van W.C. Metzelaar. De naam 'Kennis is Macht' is symmetrisch geplaatst in voorgevel.

Evenwijdig aan de weg gelegen, sober en functioneel gebouwd dubbel woonhuis met verdieping en aangebouwd toegangsportaal, opgetrokken uit baksteen en gedekt door een aan een zijde doorgetrokken zadeldak met pannen en windveren. Schoorsteen in het voorste dakschild; eenvoudig geprofileerde goot, staafankers. De gevels zijn symmetrisch ingedeeld door licht getoogde vensters met luiken, hardstenen vensterbanken en oorspronkelijk 12-ruits schuiframen (thans resteert daarvan nog een zesruits bovenlicht) en paarsgewijs geplaatste vierruits steekramen. Portaal onder lessenaardak; opgeklampte deur met lichtgetoogd tweeruits bovenlicht en zesruits schuifraam.

Double dwelling situated parallel to the road, built in sober and functional style with upper storey and built-in access porch, constructed of brick and covered by a gabled roof with tiles and roof ridges continuous on one side. Chimney in the front roof section; simply profiled gutter, rod anchors. The facades are symmetrically arranged by slightly arched windows with shutters, hardstone window sills and originally 12-paned sash windows (now only a six-paned fanlight remains) and paired 4-paned stud windows. Porch beneath a catslide roof; clamped door with slightly arched 2-paned fanlight and 6-paned sash window.
Evaluation
Essential component of the exceptionally valuable complex Veenhuizen and of architectural, typological and urban design importance. Predominantly intact.
