Inleiding
In ambachtelijke stijl gebouwde SMEDERIJ uit 1876, overgeplaatst in 1974 vanuit Steenbergen (gemeente Zuidwolde). De smederij staat op hetzelfde perceel als de eveneens beschermde boerderij Dorpsstraat 7, doch houdt daarmee functioneel geen verband; reden waarom beide gebouwen afzonderlijk worden beschermd.
Omschrijving
Op rechthoekige grondslag gebaseerd en in baksteen opgetrokken gebouw van een bouwlaag, gedekt door een schilddak belegd met oud hollandse pannen; schoorsteen. Gevelopbouw met handgevormde steen; voorgevel met opgeklampte houten deur met 6-ruits bovenlicht; 15-ruits schuiframen met luiken; staafankers. Achtergevel met 4-ruits raam en 9-ruits schuifraam met luiken. Linker gevel met opgeklampte deur, klein 6-ruits raam met luiken.
INTERIEUR met blaasbalg (handbediening) geplaatst achter de vuurplaats.

Building based on a rectangular plan and erected in brick of one storey, covered by a hipped roof with old Dutch tiles; chimney. Facade construction with hand-formed brick; front facade with clamped wooden door with 6-pane fanlight; 15-pane sash windows with shutters; staple anchors. Rear facade with 4-pane window and 9-pane sash window with shutters. Left facade with clamped door, small 6-pane window with shutters.
