Inleiding
In ambachtelijke stijl uitgevoerde BOERDERIJ met STOOKHUT. De boerderij is gebouwd rond 1870 volgens het hallehuistype met dwarsdeel. De stookhut vermoedelijk rond 1910 gebouwd in een bijpassende ambachtelijke stijl. Door de Stichting Orvelte is de boerderij in 1974 herbestemd tot wagenmakerij. Daarvoor werden eveneens een houtzagerij (1974), een overkapping voor een zaagmachine (1977), een droogschuur (1982) en een schuur (1987) gebouwd. De bescherming betreft uitsluitend de oorspronkelijke boerderij met naastliggende stookhut.
Op hetzelfde kadastrale nummer werd in 1974 een smederij gebouwd afkomstig uit Steenbergen (gemeente Zuidwolde). Functioneel houdt dit gebouw, geadresseerd Dorpsstraat 9, geen verband met de onderwerpelijke gebouw, reden waarom beide gebouwen apart worden beschermd.
Omschrijving
Boerderij in baksteen opgetrokken en gedekt door een afgewolfd rietdak met gevlochten nok; schoorsteen. Woonhuis met 6-ruits schuiframen met strekken en twee zolderramen in de voorgevel; zijgevels met staafankers. Baanderdeur met loopdeur en overhoeks geplaatst 4-ruits raam; schuurgevels met mestdeuren en getoogde gietijzeren 4-ruits stalramen.
Stookhut in baksteen opgetrokken en gedekt door een zadeldak met cementpan; windveren en schoorsteen; getoogde gietijzeren ramen en opgeklampte deur.

FARMHOUSE with HEATING HUT executed in vernacular style. The farmhouse was built around 1870 according to the hall-house type with transverse section. The heating hut probably built around 1910 in a matching vernacular style. By the Stichting Orvelte the farmhouse was converted in 1974 to a wagon-maker's workshop. For this purpose also a sawmill (1974), a canopy for a saw machine (1977), a drying shed (1982) and a barn (1987) were built. The protection concerns exclusively the original farmhouse with adjacent heating hut.
On the same cadastral number a smithy was built in 1974 originating from Steenbergen (municipality of Zuidwolde). Functionally this building, addressed Dorpsstraat 9, has no connection with the subject building, which is why both buildings are protected separately.

Dwelling house with 6-pane sash windows with stretchers and two attic windows in the front facade; side facades with staple anchors. Barn door with wicket door and diagonally placed 4-pane window; barn facades with manure doors and arched cast-iron 4-pane stable windows.
Heating hut erected in brick and covered by a gabled roof with cement tiles; wind-braces and chimney; arched cast-iron windows and clamped door.
