Inleiding
Vrijstaande villa uit 1906-1907, gebouwd door architect Joh. Mutters jr. in overgangsarchitectuur.
Waardering

Description
Introduction
Detached villa from 1906-1907, built by architect Joh. Mutters jr. in transitional architecture. Originally on this site stood buildings of the "Physiatric Institution" of Dr. P.H. Eykman, which was demolished in 1906. The shell was partly used for the construction of the new villa.
Description
Villa on rectangular plan, consisting of two storeys under a hipped roof covered with glazed tiles. The facades are rendered, with the exception of the first storey of the front and left side facades, of the front part of the right side facade and of the bay windows on the front facade, where the brickwork is left exposed. The facades have a stone plinth. Green glazed brick is incorporated in the facades in the form of horizontal bands between the two storeys and below the cornice, below the windows along and as bands above the windows. The roof is slightly bent at the underside. The cornice rests on thin wooden consoles. Against the right axis of the front facade is a three-sided projecting bay window over both storeys, above which a balcony with a brick parapet topped with a stone coping. The windows of the bay window on the first storey have leaded glass fanlights; the windows on the second storey are entirely of leaded glass. The axis is terminated by a rendered gable with a frame of glazed brick. In the top is a three-light window. Above the left part of the first storey is a wooden canopy. Below the canopy are windows and French doors with leaded glass fanlights and shutters. The doors open onto a small terrace with granite flooring and an openwork brick parapet topped with a stone coping, furnished with ornamental finials. Above the canopy are two dormers with leaded glass fanlights and shutters, and to the right of these a long window with glazing bars.
Below the cornice is a diamond-shaped brick decoration. The roof contains a roof gable with triangular pediment and to the right of the gable a brick chimney. The left side facade contains the entrance section and is symmetrically executed, three bays wide. The entrance is situated in the central bay and consists of a panelled door, framed by leaded glass windows in front of which wrought iron railings. The door is situated in a round-arched portico. The arch is framed by glazed brick. Above this is a four-light window with shutters on the second storey. The central axis is terminated by a rendered gable with a frame of glazed brick. In the top is a two-light window placed, above which a sundial. On either side of the entrance are two three-sided projecting bay windows, furnished with leaded glass fanlights. Above these are dormers, with shutters and leaded glass fanlights. The roof contains two brick chimneys and two roof gables. The central axis of the right side facade is built up to a rendered gable with substantial overhang. In the central axis is the side entrance, a simple panelled door with a window to the left. Above the door are two substantial windows with finely coloured leaded glass placed one above the other, which light the stairwell. To the right of the central axis is a tall brick chimney built against the facade. Next to it are two windows and a small outbuilding. To the left of the central axis is a decoration of glazed brick in the form of a diamond in the render.
The rear facade has an extension over the full width which steps back slightly on the left side, above which is a balcony. The cornice of the extension rests on corbels. The right part is built out as a conservatory, entirely with leaded glass windows. In front of the conservatory is an arched terrace laid out with granite flooring and a brick parapet. To the left of the conservatory is the rear entrance, consisting of a panelled door with leaded glass frame situated in a round-arched portico. The windows on the second storey with French doors opening onto the balcony have leaded glass fanlights. The roof contains two roof gables.
Well-preserved interior. The rooms mostly have simple stucco ceilings with rosettes on the first storey or circular motif on the second. The room front right on the first storey has an imitation mother-and-child-beams ceiling with keystones. The hall has marble panelling, a black and white marble floor and a draught vestibule of leaded glass (the door has been removed). Intact stairwell with wooden handrails and panelling. WC with original tiling and kitchen with authentic components. Furthermore, panelled doors and wooden panelling are preserved throughout.
The garden is separated from the street by a wrought iron garden gate on a brick base with stone coping and a brick gatepost with moulded coping. On the right side of the garden is a wooden dividing gate. Valuation
