Inleiding
Dubbel herenhuis, in oorsprong genaamd villa Eletta, dat het rechterdeel vormt van het vrijstaande, op een duintop gesitueerde bouwblok Antwerpsestraat 6/8, 10/12 en 14/16, in 1886-1887 gebouwd door architect Johannes Hendriks Beetsma in eclectische bouwstijl. Het zijn de oudste herenhuizen in het Belgisch Park.
Omschrijving
Op een duintop gebouwd dubbel herenhuis op rechthoekige plattegrond, bestaande uit een souterrain en twee bouwlagen onder een met shingles gedekt, afgeknot omlopend schilddak, drie vensterassen breed. De bakstenen gevels zijn aan de voorzijde geleed door geblokte (hoek)lisenen. Een gepleisterde cordonlijst die aan de zijgevel deels geprofileerd is, scheidt de bouwlagen. Het gepleisterde hoofdgestel is gekornist en aan de zij- en achtergevel voorzien van panelen in het fries. Het dak is voorzien van eenvoudige dakkapellen, deels met pilasteromlijsting. De ramen zijn voor het merendeel T-vormige stolpramen.
Het middendeel van de rechterzijgevel is licht risalerend. In deze gevel zijn de beide ingangen gesitueerd; de ingang van nummer 14 - een houten paneeldeur met smeedijzeren roosters - behoort tot de bouwtijd. Twee evenwijdig lopende trappen bieden toegang tot de deuren. Het linkerdeel van de achtergevel is als een forse risaliet uitgebouwd. Rechts daarvan bevindt zich op de eerste bouwlaag een serre, waarboven een balkon. Het interieur bevat onder meer in eclectische stijl geornamenteerde stucplafonds en schoorsteenmantels. De tuin wordt van de straat gescheiden door een gietijzeren hek op een lage bakstenen voet, voorzien van vernieuwde gemetselde hekpijlers.

Dubbel herenhuis van architectuurhistorische waarde als representatief voorbeeld van eclectische architectuur en als oudste bebouwing van het Belgisch Park; hoofdvorm, detaillering en materiaalgebruik zijn in- en uitwendig goed bewaard. Description
Double townhouse built on a dune top on a rectangular floor plan, consisting of a basement and two storeys under a truncated hipped roof covered with shingles, three window bays wide. The brick facades are articulated on the front by blocked corner pilasters. A plastered string course which is partly profiled on the side facade separates the storeys. The plastered main cornice is corniced and fitted with panels in the frieze on the side and rear facades. The roof is fitted with simple dormers, partly with pilaster framing. The windows are for the most part T-shaped casement windows.
The central part of the right side facade is slightly projecting. The two entrances are situated in this facade; the entrance to number 14 - a wooden panelled door with wrought iron grilles - dates from the period of construction. Two parallel staircases provide access to the doors. The left part of the rear facade is built out as a substantial projection. To the right of this, on the first storey, there is a conservatory, above which is a balcony. The interior contains, among other features, stucco ceilings ornamented in eclectic style and fireplace mantels. The garden is separated from the street by a cast iron fence on a low brick base, fitted with renewed masonry fence posts.
Valuation
Double townhouse of architectural-historical value as a representative example of eclectic architecture and as the oldest building in Belgisch Park; main form, detailing and use of materials are well preserved both internally and externally.
