Omschrijving
Winkelpand met een, verscholen tussen omringende bebouwing, middeleeuws eenlaags pand met zadeldak tussen trapgevels evenwijdig aan de Lauwersteeg.
Het middeleeuwse bouwdeel (ongeveer 8 bij 5 meter) heeft twee trapgevels met vijf treden, waarvan de noordelijke een iets uit de as geplaatst zolderluik heeft onder halfsteens segmentboog. Het muurwerk is anderhalfsteens, maar bovendaks in de trapgevels steens (steenformaat 30 x 14,5 x 7 cm; 10 lagen is 80 cm). De lage zijden worden bekroond door een tandlijst. In de oostgevel bevindt zich bovendien een eenvoudig geprofileerd rondboogpoortje.
De zolder heeft een hoge borstwering (1,5 meter hoog) en een kap op twee gebinten met eiken krommers. Het middeleeuwse bouwdeel ligt ongeveer 7 meter achter de rooilijn van de Lauwersteeg.
Het middeleeuwse bouwpand is van bouwhistorisch belang en tevens een goed voorbeeld van eenvoudige ingesloten achterbebouwing uit de middeleeuwen.

Description
Shop property with a, concealed among surrounding buildings, medieval single-storey property with a gabled roof between stepped gables parallel to the Lauwersteeg.
The medieval building section (approximately 8 by 5 metres) has two stepped gables with five steps, the northern one having an attic hatch somewhat off-axis beneath a half-brick segmental arch. The brickwork is one-and-a-half brick thick, but above the roof line in the stepped gables one brick thick (brick size 30 x 14.5 x 7 cm; 10 layers is 80 cm). The low sides are crowned by a tooth moulding. In the east facade there is moreover a simply profiled round-arch doorway.
The attic has a high breastwork (1.5 metres high) and a roof truss on two trusses with oak curved timbers. The medieval building section lies approximately 7 metres behind the building line of the Lauwersteeg.
The medieval building is of building-historical importance and also a good example of simple enclosed rear buildings from the medieval period.
