Inleiding
WOONWINKELPAND, gebouwd in 1891 als apotheek en drogist in opdracht van A.G.H van Spanje naar ontwerp van architect W.J. van Vogelpoel in eclectische stijl.
Omschrijving
Onderkelderd pand, van drie bouwlagen en afgeplat schilddak, gedekt met losanges aan de voorzijde. Symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel met duidelijke middenas die door een stijlvolle erker wordt benadrukt.
In baksteen met kunst-, natuursteen en hout opgetrokken gevel van drie traveeën breed. De beganegrond is in natuursteen en hout uitgevoerd als rijke, symmetrische winkelpui met pilasters, zuiltjes en twee naast elkaar geplaatste paneeldeuren met in renaissancestijl uitgesneden houten planten- en rankenmotieven, met op de middenstijl een hertekop. Tweede bouwlaag met houten schuifvensters in natuurstenen omlijsting, met natuurstenen balustrade. De middentravee heeft een houten erker met rijk houtsnijwerk. De gevel wordt aan beide zijden afgesloten door pilasters in baksteen (verdiepingen) en kunststeen (begane gronds). Derde bouwlaag met Franse balkons en vensters met natuurstenen omlijsting in pilasterstelling, balkon voor middelste travee met balustrade met uitgesneden motieven. Gekorniste kroonlijst op hoekconsoles met leeuwekoppen, hoekopzetstukken met een vaas. In de middenas een dakkapel met rijk gedecoreerde, aan twee zijden op de hoeken geplaatste pilasters met voluten. Aan weerszijden een rondboogvormig afgesloten dakkapel.

The ground floor is executed in natural stone and wood as a rich, symmetrical shopfront with pilasters, small columns and two panel doors placed side by side with Renaissance-style carved wooden plant and tendril motifs, with a stag's head on the central mullion. Second storey with wooden sash windows in natural stone surrounds with natural stone balustrade. The central bay has a wooden oriel with rich woodcarving. The facade is enclosed on both sides by pilasters in brick (upper storeys) and artificial stone (ground floor). Third storey with French balconies and windows with natural stone surrounds in pilaster arrangement, balcony for middle bay with balustrade featuring carved motifs. Corniced cornice on corner consoles with lion heads, corner ornamental pieces with a vase. In the central axis a roof dormer with richly decorated pilasters placed on both corners with volutes. On either side a semi-circularly enclosed roof dormer.
