Inleiding
WOONWINKELPAND, tussen 1904 en 1906 gebouwde APOTHEEK van T.P. van der Bergh & Zoon naar ontwerp van J.H.B. (alleen initialen bekend) in Art Nouveau.
Omschrijving
WOONWINKELPAND op rechthoekige plattegrond van drie bouwlagen en kap. De symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel wordt met een door vensters ingenomen middengedeelte geflankeerd door in het dak doorgetrokken hoektraveeën waartussen het teruggeplaatste dakschild met twee houten dakkapellen is geklemd. De voorgevel is uitgevoerd in witte strengperssteen, natuursteen, kunststeen en tegels.
Beganegrond met natuurstenen pui met twee hoefijzerbogen, waarvan de halfronde bovenlichten met glas-in-lood. Aan weerszijden de wapens van stad en provincie Utrecht, tussen de bogen in schilden met kelk en vijzel, daarboven de jaartallen "1812" en "1906".
Centrale vensterzone van drie traveeën op beide verdiepingen, met kunststenen omlijsting, houten vensters met bovenlicht met roedeverdeling, de vensters gescheiden door kunstenen zuiltjes op de eerste verdieping en gemetselde afgeronde hoekstijlen op de tweede, in de vensterboog van de tweede verdieping Jugendstil tegeltableau's. RESIDENTIAL-COMMERCIAL BUILDING on a rectangular plan with three storeys and roof structure. The symmetrically arranged front facade is flanked by a central section occupied by windows, with corner bays rising into the roof and framing a set-back hipped roof with two wooden roof dormers. The front facade is executed in white wirecut brick, natural stone, artificial stone and tiles.
Ground floor with natural stone frontage with two horseshoe arches, the semicircular fanlights with leaded glass. On either side the coats of arms of the city and province of Utrecht, between the arches shields with chalice and mortar, above them the dates "1812" and "1906".
