Blok van twee WONINGEN gebouwd in 1904 in opdracht van het Ministerie van Justitie en bestemd voor beambten van de zuivelfabriek. Ontwerp, afwijkend woningtype IV, van W.C. Metzelaar.
Omschrijving
Sober en functioneel gebouwd dubbel woonhuis. Het in baksteen opgetrokken gebouw heeft voor de helft een aan een zijde doorgetrokken zadeldak, de andere helft heeft een schilddak; pannen en windveren. Schoorsteen in voorste dakschild; eenvoudig geprofileerde goot, staafankers. Lichtgetoogde vensters met luiken, hardstenen vensterbanken en oorspronkelijk 12-ruits schuiframen (thans resteert daarvan nod de aanzet van een 8-ruits verdeling) en twee 4-ruitssteekramen en een eenvoudig dakkapel. Portaal onder lessenaarsdak; opgeklampte deur met lichtgetoogde 2-ruits bovenlicht. Het rechter woonhuis heeft een platte aanbouw als portaal.

Description
Sober and functionally built semi-detached house. The brick constructed building has for half a gabled roof drawn through on one side, the other half has a hipped roof; tiles and wind braces. Chimney in front roof slope; simply profiled gutter, wall anchors. Lightly arched windows with shutters, hard stone window sills and originally 12-pane sash windows (now only the outline of an 8-pane division remains) and two 4-pane casement windows and a simple dormer. Portico under lean-to roof; clamped door with lightly arched 2-pane fanlight. The right dwelling house has a flat annexe as portico.
Valuation
Essential component of the exceptionally valuable area Veenhuizen and of architectural, typological and urban planning importance. Intact and for Veenhuizen as to type unique.
