Inleiding
WINKEL/WOONHUIS gebouwd rond 1930 in een typerende Interbellum Architectuur. Het pand is gelegen op een markant punt, daar waar de Julianastraat een scherpe bocht maakt en een zijstraat ligt. Het ontwerp speelt op sterke wijze in op de stedebouwkundige situering. De aangebouwde garage alsmede de vernieuwingen aan de westzijde vallen buiten de bescherming.
Omschrijving.
Samengesteld in baksteen opgetrokken bouwvolume met de entree van de winkel als symmetrie-as. De hoofdvorm bestaat uit twee haaks op elkaar staande mansardekappen bedekt met verbeterde hollandse pannen en in het kwart geplaatst een rondlopende invulling van twee bouwlagen met plat. Gevelopbouw van de twee haaks op elkaar gelegen volumes: trasraam afgedekt door een streklaag, opgaand metselwerk; windveren en goten. De kopse gevels zijn voorzien van een samengesteld venster met twee stijlen (smal middenlicht en aan weerskanten een kozijn met kalf en bovenlicht). De overgang naar het winkelgedeelte wordt gemarkeerd door een ronding in het metselwerk die aan de bovenkant over gaat in uitkragend metselwerk. Het winkelgedeelte heeft een veelhoekige etalagepui met gemetselde plint (staand metselwerk), een portiek met gemetselde stoep en een oorspronkelijke deur; de pui wordt afgedekt door een uitkragend plat met gebombeerde daklijst; boven dit gedeelte een terugspringend gevelveld met een glas-in-lood lichtstraat eveneens afgedekt door een uitkragend plat met gebombeerde daklijst. Hierboven een rondlopende in baksteen opgetrokken verdieping gedekt door een plat en met oorspronkelijke vensterindeling.

A composite brick-constructed building volume with the shop entrance as the axis of symmetry. The main form consists of two mansard roofs set at right angles to each other, covered with improved Dutch tiles and, arranged in the quadrant, a continuous infill of two storeys with a flat roof. Facade construction of the two volumes set at right angles to each other: transom window covered by a lintel, rising masonry; wind braces and gutters. The gable walls are furnished with a composite window with two mullions (narrow centre light and on either side a frame with sill and fanlight). The transition to the shop section is marked by a rounding in the masonry which at the top transitions into cantilevered masonry. The shop section has a polygonal shop front with rendered plinth (standing masonry), a porch with rendered stoop and an original door; the shop front is covered by a cantilevered flat roof with a curved eaves cornice; above this section a set-back facade panel with a leaded light light gallery likewise covered by a cantilevered flat roof with curved eaves cornice.
