Inleiding.
Vrijstaand havenkantoor uit 1900, gebouwd in overgangsarchitectuur in opdracht van de gemeente Den Haag naar ontwerp van architect A.A. Schadee. Het diende voor het innen van haven- en liggelden van de schepen die het in 1898-1901 gegraven eerste gedeelte van de Laakhaven aandeden. Omschrijving.
Havenkantoor op smalle onregelmatige plattegrond, bestaande uit begane grond en verdieping, met wisselende gevelbeeindigingen. De gevels zijn opgetrokken uit baksteen, afgewisseld door natuurstenen onderdelen voor vensterdorpels, lijsten, lateien en gevelbekroningen. De gevelbehandeling is karakteristiek voor de overgangsarchitectuur. De ingang bevindt zich in een uitgebouwd portaal met lessenaarsdak, die tegen de afgeschuinde hoek aan de voorzijde is aangebracht.
