Segment van verdedigingswerk vesting Muiden, deel uitmakend van de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. Het werk bestaat uit een aanleg van aardwerken, gracht en bijbehorende bebouwing en objecten zoals hierna genoemd.
De aanleg is een oostelijk deel van de vesting Muiden en omvat een bastion en de natte gracht gelegen voor het bastion.
Op het bastion (bekend als bastion VIII) bevindt zich een grondgedekt kruitmagazijn (gebouw E).
