Middeleeuws pand met twee bouwlagen, een kap loodrecht op de straat en een kelder.
In tegenstelling tot de lagere oneven nummers aan de Twijnstraat is dit huis alleen op de straat georiënteerd. Het casco bevat zeer veel middeleeuwse elementen. De kap heeft eiken gebinten met zowel middeleeuwse als 16e of 17e eeuwse telmerken. Beide typen telmerken komen overeen met de huidige plaatsing van de gebinten. Mogelijk is de kap gedemonteerd geweest en opnieuw geplaatst.
Het interieur vertoont een 19e eeuws karakter vanwege de stucplafonds en deuren.
De voorgevel is in de 18e eeuw verbouwd tot lijstgevel. De 18e eeuwse kozijnen zijn in de 19e eeuw van nieuwe vensters voorzien. De achtergevel is eveneens van zijn top ontdaan en van een eenvoudige lijst voorzien. De kelder heeft een groot, halfsteens, tongewelf van grote tot zeer grote baksteen. Op grond van het baksteenformaat is een datering in de 14e eeuw mogelijk.
Het huis is bouwhistorisch van belang als middeleeuwse bebouwing. Description
Medieval building with two storeys, a roof ridge perpendicular to the street and a cellar.
Unlike the lower odd-numbered houses on the Twijnstraat, this house is oriented only towards the street. The shell contains very many medieval elements. The roof has oak trusses with both medieval and 16th or 17th-century carpenters' marks. Both types of carpenters' marks correspond with the current position of the trusses. It is possible that the roof was dismantled and repositioned.
The interior shows a 19th-century character due to the stucco ceilings and doors.
The front facade was rebuilt as a cornice-topped facade in the 18th century. The 18th-century window frames were provided with new windows in the 19th century. The rear facade has likewise been deprived of its top and provided with a simple cornice. The cellar has a large, half-brick, barrel vault of large to very large brickwork. On the basis of the brick size, dating to the 14th century is possible.
The building is of architectural-historical importance as medieval construction. Moreover, it is very important as a transition between two types of houses on the Twijnstraat; between the house with dual orientation and the separate construction with on one side the house oriented to the street and on the other side the construction oriented to the yard.
