Omschrijving
Van oorsprong middeleeuws huis met een ingezwenkte topgevel met houten kroonlijst uit de eerste helft van de 19e eeuw. Het pand bestaat uit een bouwlaag, een kelder en een kap loodrecht op de straat.
Het middeleeuwse huis vertoonde reeds de vrij brede opzet met rechts een overbouwde gang en de structuur van kelder, een bouwlaag en kap. In de 17e eeuw is de oorspronkelijke houten voorgevel grotendeels vervangen door een stenen. Bij deze verbouwing heeft men tevens getracht meer ruimte in het huis te scheppen. Hierdoor is een interessante structuur van hangkamers en tussenverdiepingen ontstaan. Tevens is de kap aan de linkerzijde, met behoud van de middeleeuwse constructie, opgehoogd.
Rond 1800 werd de houten pui vervangen door een gecombineerde winkel/woonhuispui. Enige tijd later is de topgevel, die met zijn houten kroonlijst het enige resterende exemplaar in Utrecht is, aangebracht.
Het pand is van bouwhistorisch belang vanwege de vele bouwkundige constructies en onderdelen uit de verschillende bouwperiodes en tevens van belang als markant gelegen huis dat bepalend is voor het historisch straatkarakter.

Description
Originally a medieval house with an inswept stepped gable with wooden cornice from the first half of the 19th century. The building consists of one storey, a cellar and a roof truss structure perpendicular to the street.
The medieval house already showed the fairly broad layout with on the right an enclosed passage and the structure of cellar, one storey and roof truss. In the 17th century the original wooden front facade was largely replaced by stone. With this renovation, an attempt was also made to create more space in the house. This resulted in an interesting structure of hanging rooms and intermediate storeys. Also the roof on the left side, while retaining the medieval construction, was heightened.
Around 1800 the wooden shopfront was replaced by a combined shop/residential shopfront. Some time later the stepped gable, which with its wooden cornice is the only remaining example in Utrecht, was added.
The building is of architectural historical importance because of the many structural constructions and components from the various building periods and is also important as a prominently located house that is determining for the historic street character.
