BEELD OP SOKKEL.
Loden 19e-eeuws beeld van Mercurius op 19e-eeuwse natuurstenen sokkel. De taps toelopende sokkel is aan de zijden van vakken met waaiervormig motief aan de onderzijden voorzien. De sokkel rust op een betonnen rechthoekig voetstuk. Beeld en sokkel staan in het hart van de parterre ten westen van de vijver met fontein. Oorspronkelijk waren beeld en sokkel het centrum van de door Achille Duchesne aangelegde inmiddels bijna geheel verdwenen neoformele parterre ten noorden van het kasteel.

Description
STATUE ON PLINTH.
19th-century lead statue of Mercury on a 19th-century stone plinth. The tapered plinth is provided on the sides with panels with fan-shaped motif on the undersides. The plinth rests on a rectangular concrete base. Statue and plinth stand in the heart of the parterre west of the pond with fountain. Originally the statue and plinth were the centre of the neoformale parterre north of the castle laid out by Achille Duchesne, which has now almost completely disappeared.
