Omschrijving
SMEEDIJZEREN HEK OP BAKSTENEN DAM. Dubbel smeedijzeren hek uit ca. 1755 omgeven door een getoogde smeedijzeren omlijsting met voluutvormige krullen in Lodewijk XV-stijl met aan de bovenzijde in vergulde sierletters: GOUDESTEIN. Aan weerszijden van het hek twee vleugelstukken, die evenals het hek van tralies zijn voorzien.
In de 19e eeuw werd aan weerszijden van het hek en vleugelstukken een bakstenen pijler geplaatst, bekleed met hardstenen geprofileerde platen en bekroond door hardstenen siervazen op een samengestelde geprofileerde afdekplaat. Op de vazen de wapens van Mr Jan Huydecoper (links) en Sophia van der Muelen (rechts). De vleugelstukken en pijlers rusten op een bakstenen sokkel en bakstenen met een natuurstenen plaat afgedekt muurwerk; de sokkel, die zich ter hoogte van de pijlers bevindt, zwenkt aan drie zijden naar onderen uit.
Het metselwerk van de pijlers maakt een geheel uit met het metselwerk van de 18e-eeuwse bakstenen dam, waarvan het boogsgewijze verloop van de keermuren vanaf de Diependaalsedijk naar de oprijlaan zich verjongt.

Description
WROUGHT-IRON GATE ON BRICK DAM. Double wrought-iron gate from c. 1755 surrounded by an arched wrought-iron surround with volute-shaped scrolls in Louis XV style with at the top in gilded decorative letters: GOUDESTEIN. On either side of the gate two wing sections, which like the gate are provided with railings.
In the 19th century a brick pier was placed on either side of the gate and wing sections, clad with hard stone profiled plates and crowned with hard stone decorative urns on a composite profiled coping plate. On the urns the coats of arms of Mr Jan Huydecoper (left) and Sophia van der Muelen (right). The wing sections and piers rest on a brick base and brick masonry covered with a natural stone plate; the base, which is located at the height of the piers, curves outward on three sides.
The masonry of the piers forms one whole with the masonry of the 18th-century brick dam, of which the arch-shaped course of the retaining walls from the Diependaalsedijk to the driveway tapers.
