HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG. De historische tuin- en parkaanleg van Akerendam gaat terug tot in circa 1640, toen Jan Bicker rond het huis een formele aanleg tot stand liet brengen. Uit deze tijd is de rechthoekige huisplaats en haar rechthoekige omgrachting bewaard gebleven. Omstreeks 1730 werd de aanleg van Akerendam verfraaid. Ter weerszijden van de oprit, die toen nog recht op de as van het huis verliep, werden twee linden geplant. Een van de linden op het huidige voorplein kan waarschijnlijk aan deze fase in de ontwikkeling van de aanleg worden toegeschreven. Aan de achter(NW-)zijde van het huis werd een ruime formele uitgeschulpte kom aangelegd, die iets geert ten aanzien van de as van het huis. HISTORICAL GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT. The historical garden and park layout of Akerendam dates back to approximately 1640, when Jan Bicker had a formal layout created around the house.
