SMEEDIJZEREN HEKWERK MET TWEE INRIJHEKKEN. Aan de westzijde van de historische aanleg gelegen 19e-eeuws smeedijzeren hekwerk met twee inrijhekken, waarvan de een recht tegenover de ingangspartij van het huis en de ander tegenover de schuur is gesitueerd. De situering van de inrijhekken op deze plaats is vermoedelijk vanouds; de kaart van de stad Assen uit 1809 door P.A.C. Buwama Aardenburg geeft op deze plaatsen de ingang naar de buitenplaats aan. De inrijhekken zijn samengesteld uit een dubbel hek, waarvan het profiel zich naar het midden boogsgewijs verjongd, geflankeerd door ronde met vaasvormig motief bekroonde gecanneleerde pijlers. Aan weerszijden een vleugelstuk, waarvan het profiel zich naar de buitenzijde boogsgewijs verjongt, met aan de buitenzijden een identieke, maar lagere, pijler. Description
WROUGHT-IRON FENCING WITH TWO CARRIAGE GATES. Located on the west side of the historic layout, 19th-century wrought-iron fencing with two carriage gates, one of which is positioned directly opposite the entrance section of the house and the other opposite the barn. The positioning of the carriage gates at this location is presumably ancient; the city plan of Assen from 1809 by P.A.C. Buwama Aardenburg indicates the entrance to the estate at these places. The carriage gates are composed of a double gate, the profile of which tapers in an arched manner towards the centre, flanked by round cannelated pillars crowned with a vase-shaped motif. On either side a wing piece, the profile of which tapers in an arched manner towards the exterior, with on the outer sides an identical but lower pillar. On either side of the latter pillars a side piece angling towards the east with an identical arching tapered profile. Fencing and carriage gate with wing and side pieces are composed of rails and spars with ornamental arrow-pointed crowning.
