Omschrijving
Voormalig badhuis.
Symmetrisch opgezet, in oorsprong tot badhuis bestemd gebouw, opgetrokken in baksteen op een trapeziumvormige plattegrond met in- en uitspringende kubische bouwvolumes van wisselende hoogten, die plat of flauwhellend, met lichtoverstek, zijn afgedekt en worden afgesloten met rollagen van koppen en strekken. Bij de aansluitende, L-vormige pleinmuren zijn de rollagen in omgekeerde volgorde toegepast.
De muurvlakken van de bouwvolumes worden doorbroken door verdiepte vensters met houten kozijnen - in oorsprong alle met horizontale roedenverdeling - die al naar gelang de oorspronkelijke bestemming van de achterliggende ruimten hoog of laag in de gevel geplaatst zijn.
Het twee bouwlagen tellende middenfrontblok heeft verder in de bovenbouw lichtgeknikte zijmuren en in het midden de ingangsportieken te weerszijden van de hoogopgaande, zich naar boven verjongende, vierkante schoorsteen die aan de frontzijde van drie in donkere steen gemetselde verticale banen is voorzien. Op de verdiepingen zijn rondom horizontale ventilatiestroken aangebracht met houten latwerk. Bij de hoeken zijn, evenals bij de lagere, in oorsprong tot waslokaal bestemde, bouwvolumes terzijden vertandingen toegepast.
Aansluitend op de lage, licht naar voren gerooide kleedkamer-vleugels aan de kortste zijde in de hoeken twee torenachtige bouwvolumes met een door stoep en zijmuur gemarkeerde zij-ingang en bekroond door telkens terugspringende, staande rollagen. Het tussengelegen middenblok bevat een vrijwel gesloten front met een meervoudig samengestelde rondboog.
Voormalig badhuis met voor de derde fase in de oeuvre-ontwikkeling van Dudok kenmerkende plastische toepassing van kubische bouwvolumes en markante schoorsteen, als zodanig van belang uit architectuurhistorisch en stilistisch oogpunt en tevens als onderdeel van het complex met monumentnummer 407231.

Description
Former bathhouse.
Symmetrically conceived, building originally intended as a bathhouse, constructed in brick on a trapezoidal ground plan with projecting and recessed cubic building volumes of varying heights, which are covered with flat or slightly pitched roofs with light overhang and finished with rolled courses of headers and stretchers. At the adjoining L-shaped courtyard walls, the rolled courses are applied in reverse order.
The wall surfaces of the building volumes are broken up by recessed windows with wooden frames - originally all with horizontal glazing bars - which, depending on the original function of the spaces behind them, are positioned high or low in the facade.
The middle front block, comprising two storeys, further has lightly curved side walls in the upper structure and in the centre the entrance porticos on either side of the tall, tapering upwards square chimney which on the front elevation is provided with three vertical bands laid in dark brick. On the storeys, horizontal ventilation strips with wooden lattice are arranged all around. At the corners, as with the lower building volumes originally intended as wash rooms, teeth bonds are applied to the sides.
Adjacent to the low changing room wings slightly projecting forward at the shortest side, in the corners two tower-like building volumes with a side entrance marked by a step and side wall and crowned by each progressively recessed standing rolled courses. The intervening middle block contains an almost closed front with a multiply composed round arch.
