Omschrijving
Restant van de poldermolen Bombay, gebouwd omstreeks 1840 en in 1878 (mogelijk vanuit Zuid-Holland) overgebracht naar Noord Groningen ter bemaling van de dan gereedgekomen polder Bombay. In 1931 werd een dieselmotor geplaatst; sedert 1958 is de bemaling elektrisch. De onttakeling dateert van de jaren 1932 en 1966.
Mooi in nagenoeg open landschap en op het snijpunt van de Doezumertocht en het Kolonelsdiep gelegen watermolenrestant met voor- en achterwaterloop, bestaande uit rood-bakstenen voet met enkele raam- en deuropeningen, een gedeelte van het met riet beklede achtkant en een provisorische kap.
Molenrestant uit ca. 1840 van belang wegens geschiedenis van de Groninger polderbemaling in het algemeen en die van de polder "Bombay" in het bijzonder en wegens de mooie ligging in open landschap.

Description
Remains of the polder mill Bombay, built around 1840 and transported in 1878 (possibly from South Holland) to North Groningen for the drainage of the then completed polder Bombay. In 1931 a diesel engine was installed; since 1958 the drainage has been electric. The dismantling of the sails dates from the years 1932 and 1966.
A water mill remnant situated beautifully in an almost open landscape and at the junction of the Doezumertocht and the Kolonelsdiep, consisting of a red-brick base with several window and door openings, part of the reed-covered octagon and a temporary roof.
Mill remains from around 1840 of importance due to the history of Groningen polder drainage in general and that of the polder "Bombay" in particular and due to its beautiful location in open landscape.
