Omschrijving
Oosterbrug. Over de stadsgracht (singel) gelegen in 1908 door de firma W.E. Penning te Kampen vervaardigde aan een zijde met draaihekken afsluitbare ophaalbrug.
De vernieuwde val is opgebouwd uit liggers van gewalst balkstaal en een houten dek. De bovenbouw is opgebouwd uit geklonken samengestelde liggers.
In 1952 vernieuwde, op palen gefundeerde, aanbruggen met boogvormige voormetseling overgaand in houten walbeschoeiing. De over de brug en landhoofden geplaatste ijzeren balustrade met strak Jugendstil-motief is voor het grootste gedeelte eveneens in vereenvoudigde, doch bijpassende vorm vernieuwd.

Description
Oosterbrug. A bascule bridge manufactured in 1908 by the firm W.E. Penning in Kampen, located over the city moat (singel), with rotating gates to close it on one side.
The renewed gate is constructed from rolled steel joist girders and a wooden deck. The superstructure is built from riveted composite girders.
In 1952 renewed, founded on piles, approach spans with arched facing brickwork transitioning to wooden wall facing. The iron balustrade with strict Art Nouveau motif placed over the bridge and abutments has largely also been renewed in simplified yet matching form.
