Sint Petruskerk. Monumental late Gothic pseudo-basilica with deep central choir, second half of the 15th century; tower after destruction in 1944-'45 replaced by a new one, which was completed in 1950. In the churchyard five gravestones, originally lying in the church (including 1493, 1607, 1716); furthermore eight grave crosses (17th, 18th, 19th century) and seven gravestones, 18th century and in the grave vault to the east of the choir a gravestone 1690 (1754, 1781). Against the east wall of the north aisle a white sandstone Anna altar from circa 1900, made by the workshop of Dr. P.J.H. Cuypers with four figures of saints in the predella; the Christ Child surrounded by ancestors and the Tree of Jesse; representations of the deathbed of Anna, Mary and Anna reading, Joachim and Anna. Against the east wall of the choir a white sandstone altar from circa 1900 made by the workshop of Dr. P.J.H. Cuypers with representations of St. Barbara, St. Thomas, St. Anthony, St. Leonard as well as of the Last Supper and the Miraculous Multiplication of Bread; on the far left a figure of St. Peter, on the far right a figure of St. Paul. Both altars come from the Annakerk in Breda and were moved to Venray in 1999. Recast bell "Twelve Apostles" by Petit & Fritsen, 1951, also recast in 1618, 1645 and 1870, weight 4132 kg.
