Omschrijving
Uit 1878 daterende, ronde, conische, gietijzeren vuurtoren (lage licht) naar ontwerp van Q. Harder en uitgevoerd door gieterij D.A.Schretler & Co. De toren is thans 17.50 m. hoog, is roodbruin geschilderd en heeft thans 5 etages. Oorspronkelijk was de toren 30 m. hoog en had 9 etages. Het bovenste deel werd in 1909 echter bestemd tot vuurtoren van Vlieland. Het huidige lichthuis met koperen koepel en de omloop met balustrade dateren van deze verbouwing in 1909. Het onderste gedeelte van de toren is behandeld als een klassieke zuil met basement en in- en uitzwenkende zuilvoet en is voorzien van opgelegde voegen. Rechtgesloten toegangsdeur en rechtgesloten 6-ruits vensters. Gedecoreerde gietijzeren trappen.

Description
Dating from 1878, a round, conical, cast-iron lighthouse (lower light) to the design of Q. Harder and executed by the foundry D.A. Schretler & Co. The tower is now 17.50 m. high, is painted reddish-brown and now has 5 storeys. Originally the tower was 30 m. high and had 9 storeys. The upper part was, however, designated in 1909 as lighthouse of Vlieland. The current lantern room with copper cupola and the gallery with balustrade date from this alteration in 1909. The lower part of the tower is treated as a classical column with basement and in- and out-swell column base and is provided with applied joints. Flush entrance door and flush 6-light windows. Decorated cast-iron stairs.
