Omschrijving
In 1750 gebouwde stenen KORENMOLEN met hardstenen wapen van Zeeland in een Lodewijk XV trant; markant gesitueerd op het vm. bastion Vlissingen van Axel.
De molenromp is opgetrokken uit IJsselsteen met aan de bovenzijde enkele uitkragende lagen rode steen. Aan de zijde van de Molenstraat bevindt zich de rondbogige toegang met dubbele deuren onder hardstenen latei en dito wapensteen; aan weerszijden van de wapensteen is het boogsegment opgevuld met lagen metselwerk.
In de romp enkele kleine vensters.
De oorspronkelijke balklagen en zolders zijn nog grotendeels aanwezig, evenals de kuip en rolvloer bovenop het muurwerk.
De molenromp is van belang vanwege zijn oudheidkundige waarde, en vanwege de wijze van uitvoering en situering ook van architectuurhistorische waarde.

Description
Stone CORN MILL built in 1750 with stone coat of arms of Zeeland in a Louis XV style; prominently situated on the former bastion Vlissingen of Axel.
The mill drum is constructed of IJssel stone with several projecting courses of red stone at the top. On the side of Molenstraat is the round-arched entrance with double doors under a stone lintel and stone coat of arms; on either side of the coat of arms stone the arch segment is filled with courses of masonry.
In the drum several small windows.
The original beam layers and floors are still largely present, as are the tub and roller floor on top of the masonry.
The mill drum is of importance because of its archaeological value, and because of the manner of execution and siting also of architectural-historical value.
