Omschrijving
STATIONSGEBOUW met aardige perronoverkapping, van het zogenoemde 2e type uit en ontstaan in 1883 tijdens de 2e en 3e Staatsaanleg (periode 1879-1893). Het gebouw is gerestaureerd en inwendig geheel aangepast aan moderne eisen.
Eenvoudig maar met zorg en gevoel voor detail gebouwd stationsgebouw op rechthoekige plattegrond, opgetrokken op lage hardstenen plint uit een met gele baksteen verlevendigde rode strengperssteen en bestaande uit een twee bouwlagen tellende middenvleugel die wordt geflankeerd door twee verdiepingloze zijvleugels. Alle onder afgeknotte en na de restauratie met namaakleitjes gedekte schilddaken; op de middenvleugel vier gemetselde hoekschoorstenen; op de linkerzijvleugel een gemetselde schoorsteen.
De voor- en achtergevels uitgerust lichtgetoogde deuren en ramen met zesruitsschuiframen; hardstenen vensterbanken; verlevendiging van de gevels door meerkleurig siermetselwerk en even uitgemetselde partijen boven en/of onder de ramen en onder de daklijst. De ramen in de rechterzijgevel zijn blind. Tijdens de restauratie is de linkerzijgevel wit geschilderd en zijn ingangspartij en interieur gemoderniseerd.
Aan perronzijde aardige (gedeeltelijk nog oorspronkelijke) overkapping op geprofileerde gietijzeren zuiltjes.

Description
STATION BUILDING with handsome platform canopy, of the so-called 2nd type from and arising in 1883 during the 2nd and 3rd State construction period (period 1879-1893). The building has been restored and internally completely adapted to modern requirements.
Simple but carefully built station building with attention to detail on rectangular plan, erected on a low hard stone plinth from red wire-cut bricks enlivened with yellow brick and consisting of a two-storey central wing flanked by two single-storey side wings. All under truncated and after restoration with imitation slates covered hipped roofs; on the central wing four brick corner chimney stacks; on the left side wing one brick chimney stack.
The front and rear facades equipped with lightly arched doors and windows with six-light sash windows; hard stone window sills; enlivenment of the facades through multicoloured decorative brickwork and similarly carved-out sections above and/or below the windows and below the roofline. The windows in the right side facade are blind. During restoration the left side facade was painted white and its entrance section and interior were modernised.
On the platform side a handsome (partially still original) canopy on moulded cast-iron pillars.
